Welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Enjoy an arrival transfer to our hotel, where you sit back and relax after your long flight.
Don some comfortable shoes. Today we drive out of the city to Badaling, where we can walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall that snakes for thousands of kilometres is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! We also make a visit to a cloisonne workshop, where we’ll see firsthand the unique Chinese art of combining copper and enamel to make decorative pieces. There’s a shop if you fancy splashing a little cash.
This morning we explore the heart of Beijing including the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries and seat of the emperors. Entering through the Gate of Heavenly Peace (replete with Chairman Mao’s portrait), we enjoy a guided walk of this old city within a city. We also visit the Temple of Heaven.
Free morning, then we visit the beautiful Summer Palace. Tonight, we travel to Beijing rail station for our journey to Xi’an in Shaanxi Province.
Arrive Xi’an early morning, we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. We visit Huaqing Hot Springs, a scenic spot in the shadow of Li Mountain. Before visiting the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site, we visit a workshop where we see the process used to create the terracotta figurines. In battle formation, the Terracotta Warriors are one of China’s most awesome sights.
Today, we visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Muslim Quarter. Encircling the old city is Xi’an’s medieval City Wall, where we enjoy a hired bike ride. Enjoy the remainder of today in your own time to explore the beautiful city.
We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Chengdu and then the flight on to Juizhaigou. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to Huanglong and check you into the hotel.
Today we will have a full day guided walking tour of this area of China. You will be able to enjoy the breathtaking views it has to offer, including some of the 117 lakes and 17 waterfalls.
We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Chengdu. On arrival we will transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day is free.
After breakfast you will venture to the Panda Centre. Located just 10km (6miles) away from downtown Chengdu, the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Centre has been created and imitates the pandas' natural habitat in order that they might have the best possible environment for rearing and breeding. It's a full day excursion where you will also get to see other endangered species and Jinsha Museum.
We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Lijiang. Our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel in the old town. Rest of the day is free.
Today you will have a guided tour to Shigu Town, the first bend of the Yangtze River and Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hutiao Xia). Some 16km long and up to 3000m deep, it is the worlds deepest canyon. The gorge is so narrow at various points that legend has it a tiger once escaped pursuit by leaping across. visiting the gorge, you’ll have a chance to hike along a section of the stunning gorge and take in the dramatic, yet stark scenery.
We will take you on a day trip to the Lashi Lake area (if you like, you can cycle for this trip), to visit the Tibetan Buddhism Temple, Naxi and Yi villages to meet the local people. You will experience traditional life and have lunch with a local Naxi family and have a boat trip on Lashi Lake.
We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Guilin, flying via Kunming (change planes). On arrival in Guilin we will transfer you to the hotel.
This morning your Li River cruise departs from downtown Guilin for a full days excursion.. The 90 Km Li River cruise is the centerpiece of any trip to northeastern Guangxi Province. Gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky. Bear witness to rural China as peasants reap rice paddies, school kids and fisherman float by on bamboo rafts. After passing many world renown sights such as Elephent Trunk Hill, Pagoda Hill and more you arrive in to Yangshuo where we will transfer you to the hotel.
Private transfer back to Guilin. This morning you pay a visit to The Reed Flute Cave where there are enchanting stalagmites, stone pillars, stele, stone curtains and stone flowers. Then we continue on to Elephant Trunk Hill.
We will transfer you to the airport this morning for the flight to Hangzhou, where our guide will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day is free.
We will take you on a guided sightseeing trip to the Anji Bamboo Forest, which was used as the backdrop for the film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
This morning you visit the West Lake which is undoubtedly the most renowned feature of Hangzhou, noted for the scenic beauty that blends naturally with many famous historical and cultural sites.
This morning we will transfer you to the train station for the express train to Shanghai. On arrival in Shanghai our guide will meet you and take you on a sightseeing tour, taking in the TV Tower, Bund, Yu garden and Art Gallery.
