Welcome to China. Our guide will meet you at the airport and bring you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to get over the jet lag or explore the city by yourself.
Today we begin to explore Beijing from paying a visit first to the largest and grandest square in the world – Tiananmen Square. As walking through the square, you will come to the magnificent Forbidden City, the biggest palace complex in the world. After A La Carte lunch, go on to appreciate the fantastic Summer Palace, the biggest and best-preserved imperial garden so far. At night, the dinner is arranged to let you taste mouthwatering and authentic Peking Duck.
The sightseeing today starts from exploring the great Temple of Heaven where emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties had worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvest. Afterwards, you will be guided to the snaking Mutianyu Great Wall, an uncrowded section with a comfortable round trip cable car to take and picturesque scenery to enjoy. As for lunch, it will be offered at an elegant restaurant at the foot of the Great Wall. Then take a chance to have a close view of the Bird's Nest and Water Cube on the way back to hotel.
After breakfast, pay a visit of the Lama Temple. Then, you will hop on a rickshaw to ride through the narrow alleys for a Hutong Tour, and pay a visit of a local family as well as have the lunch with local neighbourhoods. Tonight you take the overnight sleeper train to Luoyang (4 berth cabin for private use).
Today we explore the UNESCO listed 6th Century Longman Caves etched into the cliffs of the Yi River. The 1300 caves (grottoes) are adorned with 100,000 statues and images of Buddha and his disciples, carved during the Northern Wei Dynasty. Later on we tour the White Horse Temple, the first Buddhist temple in China.
Today we visit the Peony Square to watch ballroom dancing, tai chi and sword fighting. After some free time we board the new high speed train to Xi'an (journey time approximately 2 hours). In Xi'an we have a delicious local dinner and spend the evening at leisure.
The highlight of the tour today lies in the world-shaking Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses where you might be shocked by the rows of life-size warriors in order. After lunch, transfer to visit the ancient Xian City Wall and the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China, Great Mosque, you will have some free time to wander around the well know Muslim street nearby.
After breakfast in the hotel, you will find our guide waiting for you in the hotel lobby. We then visit the elegant and dignified Shaanxi History Museum and Xian Museum and The Small Wild Goose Pagoda Scenic Area. It is an important cultural relic and one of the remaining symbols of ancient Chang'an (the name of Xian in the Tang Dynasty). After enjoying a special A La Carte lunch in a featured local style restaurant, transfer to the airport to take your flight to Guilin. Our guide will pick you up at Guilin airport and then transfer to the hotel.
Our guide will take you to the Zhujiang Pier where we will take a cruise ship to sail along the Li River. Indulge yourself in the captivating natural beauties along the river. Reach Yangshuo after 4-hour cruise. Take an exciting bicycle tour of the intoxicating countryside and pay a visit to the local family to experience the local lifestyle. Note: If you prefer not to ride a bicycle in Yangshuo, electric sightseeing vehicles could also be arranged instead, but the extra charge will be payable locally.
This morning drive back to Guilin city and pay a visit of Reed Flute Cave where you'll marvel at the enthralling karst landscape and Elephant Trunk Hill which symbolizes Guilin Landscape.
After breakfast, we transfer you to the airport for the flight to Chongqing. Our Chongqing guide will greet you at the airport and bring you to the Panda House in Chongqing Zoo where you can find the adorable giant pandas, and the historic Ciqikou Old Town which boasts a long history of over 1,000 years. After dinner, embark on your Yangtze cruise ship.
Sail along the Yangtze River today and enjoy a shore excursion to Shibaozhai. Lose yourself in the wonderful Chinese folk dance and music performance by the cruise staff at the exciting Captain's Welcome Party in the evening. Scenic Spots: The Shibaozhai looks like a strangely-shaped pagoda hugging a hill. It is about 200 meters or 700 feet tall. People were hauled up to the temple until the stairway and the floors below were built. In there past, there were tourist stalls between the dock and the Shibaozhai. Now, It is one of the highlights along the Yangtze and the Three Gorges Lake.
Today's sailing along Yangtze River offers you the charming sights of the spectacular Qutang Gorge and the Wu Gorge. The knowledgeable guide will offer you more information about the Three Gorges, including the ancient plank road, Mengliang stairway and hanging coffins. Land at Badong and take a small wooden-boat to enjoy the unrivalled natural beauty of the fabulous Shennong Stream. Return to the ship and enter the western section of the Xiling Gorge. The great performance at the Farewell Party is an unforgettable sight.
Disembark after breakfast to enjoy the gigantic Three Gorges Dam. Return to the cruise ship and prepare for check out. The cruise ship will reach Yichang around 11:30 and our guide will meet you on board. After lunch, proceed to the airport and leave for Shanghai. Our Shanghai guide will greet you at the airport and show you to the hotel.
Today's excursion starts with Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. Then take a walk at the Bund and Nanjing Road. After enjoying A La Carte lunch, visit Yuyuan Garden where you will have some free time at the surrounding local bazaars and New Spot (XinTianDi), which is one symbol of Shanghai folk culture. We then take the Huangpu River Cruise to enjoy the impressive scenery.
Travelling west, we journey to Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. One of China’s most charming cities, it’s fame rests on it’s waterways, and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and gardens. A cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty. Renown for it’s silk, we also visit a silk workshop before continuing onto Tuxni.
This morning you venture to the top of Yellow Mountain or Huangshan as it is known in China. Considered the most beautiful mountain in China, Yellow Mountain or Huangshan is one of a range of 72 peaks in the south of Anhui Province. Set amidst rural landscapes and with it’s slopes clad in pine, the ethereal scenery is nothing short of breathtaking. Some 9,000 steps have been carved into the mountain, for those that want to walk up the most stunning stairwell on Earth, though our excursion does includes a return cable-car journey to the scenic area.
Today we transfer to Hangzhou to explore the West Lake and Lingyin Temple. Hangzhou is unusual for a Chinese city, in that it encompasses large tracts of greenery which might normally be classified as countryside. This is thanks to Xi Hu, the large lake that Hangzhou straddles. The lake is dotted with various islands and causeways, whilst the shoreline offers wonderful vistas of green trees, hills, flowers, pavilions, pagodas and boats. Hangzhou is also the southern terminus of the Grand Canal and an important centre for silk, tea and paper-making. Early this evening you will fly back to Beijing and transfer you to your airport hotel.
Today you bid farewell to China. After breakfast the hotel will provide a free transfer to the airport.
