Don some comfortable shoes. Today we drive out of the city to Badaling, where we can walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall that snakes for thousands of kilometres is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! Continuing a short distance from Badaling, we visit the tombs of the Ming emperors. We return to Beijing and visit the Summer Palace, set in a park, two thirds of which is a lake. Built on the north of the lake, the palaces, theatre, bridges and marble boat make this a picturesque sight.
This morning, we explore the heart of Beijing including the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries and seat of the emperors. Entering through the Gate of Heavenly Peace, we enjoy a guided walk of this old city within a city. We also visit the Temple of Heaven where we can enjoy some time perhaps kite flying.
This morning we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Huangshan. Our local team will greet you upon arrival and then we head out to explore the old street of Huangshan. Overnight: Huangshan International Hotel
This morning we transfer to the Yellow Mountain Scenic Area. Our excursion does includes a return cable-car journey to the scenic area. Today after the cable car to the top we check-in and head to visit some of the areas highlights which include Shixin Peak, Lion Peak, Refreshing Terrace, Flower Growing out of Writing Bush and Monkey Gazing at the Sea. Today we take the cable car back down the mountain and transfer back to the airport for your onward flight to Xian. Upon arrival we will transfer you to your hotel for check in at the Tang Dynasty Art Garden Hotel
Before visiting the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site, we visit a workshop where we see the process used to create the terracotta figurines. In battle formation, the Terracotta Warriors are one of China’s most awesome sights.
Today, we visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Muslim Quarter. Encircling the old city is Xian’s medieval City Wall, where we enjoy a hired bike ride. Enjoy the remainder of today in your own time to explore the beautiful city.
After breakfast, its back to the airport for your onward flights to Guilin. You will be met here by our local guide and transferred to your hotel. Overnight: The White House Hotel
This morning your Li River cruise departs from downtown Guilin for a full days excursion. The 90 Km Li River cruise is the center piece of any trip to northeastern Guangxi Province. Gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky. Bear witness to rural China as peasants reap rice paddies, school kids and fisherman float by on bamboo rafts. After passing many world renown sights such as Elephent Trunk Hill, Pagoda Hill and more you arrive in to Yangshuo where you will stay overnight at the Yangshuo Resort Hotel.
After breakfast and hotel check out we return to Guilin where you will have free time at your leisure for the rest of the afternoon. Overnight: The White House Hotel
Today you fly to Chongqing and board your luxury Yangtze River Cruise boat (name to be confirmed as schedules for Oct 2014 have not yet been released).
Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the 3rd longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south, and wending its way through eight very different provinces. Enjoy spectacular vistas passing through all of the famous Gorges Qutangxia Gorge, Wuxia Gorge, Xiling Gorge on your way to Yichang.
Today marks the end of your cruise. Upon arrival in Yichang we transfer you to the station for the high speed train to Shanghai. Arriving here our local guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel where you can unwind and get ready for tomorrows excursion. Overnight: Shanghai Casa Serena Hotel
Today starts off after breakfast with a full days excursion. Highlights will be a visit to The Bund, also called the Zhongshan Road, a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. Onward to see the Jade Buddha Temple, the famous Yu Gardens, Huangpu River Cruise and a trip to the Bazaar.
Today you bid farewell to China. We will transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
