Welcome to China! We will be there to meet you as you arrive in early this morning, and transfer you to your hotel, the rooms are held for immediate check in. Later today we will take you sightseeing of the capital. Sites include the Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City. This afternoon we take rickshaws to explore the Hutongs of Beijing. As our trusty rickshaw driver peddles us through the network of alleys, old back lanes, traditional courtyards and compact houses, it gives us a fascinating snapshot of the city’s traditional way of life.
Don some comfortable shoes. Today we drive out of the city to Badaling, where we can walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall that snakes for thousands of kilometres is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! We also visit the beautiful Summer Palace.
Today we visit the Temple of Heaven, perhaps join in with the locals in some Tai Chi or Badminton! Then time for some retail therapy as we head to the Silk Alley Markets! Return later to your hotel.
Today you board your train to Jinan. Here you will be collected at the train station and driven to Huantai. Here we visit Qigao History Museumand Zhoucun Commercial Street. Overnight Huantai.
Today we return to Jinan train station for your express train to Nanjing. Here you will be collected at the train station and we visit Zhonghua Gate, Confucious Temple before checking in to your hotel.
Today we visit the the Memorial Hall of the Nanjing Massacre. as well as the Mausoleum of Dr Suhn Yatsen - a father of modern China and revered nearly as much as Chairman Mao.
Continuing to Suzhou today by train. Here we enjoy lunch before exploring the Master of Nets Garden. We enjoy a cruise on the Grand Canal before transferring to your hotel.
Enjoy a tour of Suzhou today. One of China’s most charming cities, its fame rests on its waterways, and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and gardens. Renown for its silk, on our tours that travel to Suzhou, we will visit a silk workshop. We also take you on a guided visit to the Humble Administrators Garden and teh Suzhou Museum.
Onwards to Shanghai today by train. We enjoy lunch when we arrive, and then this afternoon explore Yuyan Garden and the Old Town.
Once known for its decadent magnetism that attracted fortune-seekers and adventurers, Shanghai looks like a European city in a Chinese setting. A stroll along the famous Shanghai Bund confirms this. Today, we visit the Oriental Pearl TV tower. After lunch we visit Nanjing Road before this evening enjoying a cruise on the Huangpu River.
