Day 1: Beijing

Day 3: Beijing

Today a visit to the main city centre highlights is in order enjoy a tour to Tienanmen Square and the forbidden city. After we go by rickshaw to the hutongs and see how the traditional left is kept in a fast modernising city enjoy tes with a local family as well. Remainder of the day at leisure. Day 4: Beijing - Xi'an

Enjoy a day to wander around enjoy your own time to discover the city. Later we will transfer you to the station for the sleeper train to Xian.

Day 5: Xi'an

Arrive Xi’an, hotel check in and free morning. Later today we have included a visit the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site and a workshop where warrior figurines are made. This evening at leisure. (Wannian hotel)

Day 6: Xi'an - Chengdu

Enjoy the day to explore the city I would recommend you visit the Wild Goose Pagoda and take a walk on the city wall and visit the Muslim Quarter this will give you a good insight into the mix of culture. We later go to the train station for your sleeper train to Chengdu.

Day 7: Chengdu

Upon arrival this morning our local guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free time to visit some of the many attractions on offer here like the Thatched Cottage of Du Fu, Wenshu Monastery. Remember sampling the famous Sichuan cuisine is a must on a trip to Chengdu! (Jiulong hotel)

Day 8: Chengdu

Enjoy a morning up close and personal with the endangered pandas of China. Afterwards, visit the Wuhou Memorial Temple, the Tomb of Wang Jian and Jinli Lu street - part of the old city where open air theatre and Sichuan Opera are performed in the evening and you will that this evening. Day 9: Chengdu - Jiuzhaigou

This morning fly to Jiuzhaigou - a region that for centuries has been inhabited by various Tibetan and Qiang people. Tour the Huanglong Monastery - built during the reign of Ming Emperor Hongwu, it is now a a place of worship for the local Tibetan, Han, Qiang and Hui people, all of which have different religious beliefs. Afterwards enjoy a relaxing stroll by the region’s famed calcium travertines. Onward travel to Jiuzhaigou. (Jiuzhai Jiuxin hotel)

Day 10: Jiuzhaigou

Today is spent exploring the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Reserve. Located in the high Min Shan mountain range, the Jiuzhaigou reserve is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty. It’s home to densely growing conifers, broadleaf trees and of rare and endangered animal species such as takins, golden monkeys, Giant Pandas and white-lip deer. (Jiuzhai Jiuxin hotel)

Day 11: Jiuzhaigou

Today is spent exploring the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Reserve with your expert guide to lead you on some of the many nature trails.

Day 12: Jiuzhaigou - Yangtze & Three Gorges

Spend the morning at leisure before flying to Chongqing, the start point for our exciting Yangtze River cruise. Before boarding the cruise the we can stroll along Chongqing’s People’s Square, in the city centre. (only 5* cruise available on this date called Yangtze Angel)

Days 13-14: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Enjoy the today and tomorrow on your Yangtze cruise taking in the fantastic scenery. Various stops are made for sightseeing interspersed with your meals and entertainment schedule on board. (Will be either President 6 or President 3 Yangtze Cruise)

Day 15: Yangtze & Three Gorges - Guilin

Disembark today after lunch and enjoy some time with car and driver to see the city before we transfer you to the airport for your evening flight to Guilin. Arriving here we transfer you to your hotel. (Dangui Hotel)

Day 16: Guilin - Yangshuo

Morning transfer to Yangshuo which is a wonderfully scenic region, here take a couple of days to rent bicycles or go for walks to remote villages in the area the locals are very friendly and the back drop of lime stone peaks is simply breathtaking. (Tangrenjie hotel)

Day 17: Yangshuo - Guilin

This morning we drive to Longsheng. Here, we explore the rice terraces of the Dragon’s Backbone! Beginning at the base of Mt Longji the verdant green rice fields coil the steep mountain layer upon layer climbing to its summit. Where there is soil a terrace has been made! Taking a walk along the stone paths no more than a metre wide, we climb skyward to enjoy panoramic views of the ribbon like terraces with picturesque valleys and meandering streams below. Day 18: Guilin - Shanghai

This morning you pay a visit to The Reed Flute Cave Within the cave there are enchanting stalagmites, stone pillars, stele, stone curtains and stone flowers. Then we continue on to Elephant Trunk Hill Located at the confluence of the Taohua (Peach Blossom) River. This evening you fly to Shanghai. Arrival transfer to your hotel. (Paradise hotel)

Day 19: Shanghai

Enjoy a free day to explore the city I would recommend to consider visiting the Jade Buddha Temple, Yuyuan Garden and street market, The Bund, shopping along Nanjing Road or taking a cruise along the Huangpu River. (Paradise hotel)

Day 20: Shanghai

We will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
