Great Wall

Day 1: Beijing

Welcome to China and the start of your holiday! We will be there to meet you at the airport and transfer you through to your hotel. Remainder of today is at your leisure.

Forbidden City

Day 2: Beijing

This morning, we explore the heart of Beijing including the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries and seat of the emperors. Entering through the Gate of Heavenly Peace (replete with Chairman Mao’s portrait), we enjoy a guided walk of this old city within a city.

Day 3: Beijing

Don some comfortable shoes. Today we drive out of the city to Badaling, where we can walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall that snakes for thousands of kilometres is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! Continuing a short distance from Badaling, we visit the tombs of the Ming emperors.

Day 4: Beijing - Xi'an

This morning we fly to Xian. Today we visit a workshop where we see the process used to create the terracotta figurines beforewe explore the famous Terracotta Warrior archaeological site. In battle formation, the Terracotta Warriors are one of China’s most awesome sights.

Day 5: Xi'an - Tunxi

This morning we fly to Shanghai, where upon arrival we are transferred to Yellow Mountain.

Day 6: Tunxi

This morning you venture to the top of Yellow Mountain or Huangshan as it is known in China. Considered the most beautiful mountain in China, Yellow Mountain is one of a range of 72 peaks in the south of Anhui Province. Set amidst rural landscapes and with it’s slopes clad in pine, the ethereal scenery is nothing short of breathtaking. Some 9,000 steps have been carved into the mountain, for those that want to walk up the most stunning stairwell on Earth, though our excursion does includes a return cable-car journey to the scenic area, where you’ll stay for one night in a hotel at the top. Day 7: Tunxi - Shanghai

Today we transfer back to Shanghai, where we catch our high speed train to Suzhou -A sort of oriental Venice, boats bob along waterways interwoven with small yet handsome bridges that run parallel to the streets and traditional houses built along them. Today we visit the Canal and The Humble Administrator's Garden before returning to Shanghai by high speed train.

Day 8: Shanghai - Chengdu

This morning we transfer to the airport for our flight to Chengdu, guided visit Great Buddha. Driving to Leshan our morning is spent exploring the Great Buddha, carved into the red sandstone face of Lingyun Hill. It is when standing at Dafo’s huge 8m feet that you can really appreciate the scale of one of the world’s largest Buddhas. OVERNIGHT - Chengdu Tianfu Sunshine Hotel

Day 9: Chengdu - Qufu

Travelling on, we fly to Jinan and upon arrival transfer to Qufu, where we enjoy a guided visit to Confucius Temple, Confucius Mansion and Confucius forest..

Day 10: Qufu - Jinan

Transfer to Mountain Tai for our guided visit to Mountain Taishan. Mount Taishan (Peaceful Mountain) is the premier attraction of Shandong province. Lying 100km south of Jinan, it’s the easternmost and holiest of China’s five Taoist mountains and has been worshipped longer by the Chinese than any recorded history. Famed for its scenery and slopes dotted with ancient temples and pavilions en route to the summit, it once hosted emperors and continues to host the devout. We then transfer back to Jinan.

Day 11: Jinan

Today we bid you farewell with a transfer to the airport in time too meet your onward flight.
