Welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Enjoy an arrival transfer to our hotel, where you can sit back and relax after your long flight.
Don some comfortable shoes. Today we drive out of the city to Badaling, where we can walk a section of the Great Wall. Continuing a short distance from Badaling, we visit the tombs of the Ming emperors. We also make a visit to a cloisonne workshop, where we will see firsthand the unique Chinese art of combining copper and enamel to make decorative pieces.
Today is a big day exploring China's capital. Highlights will include the Imperial, or Forbidden, Palace - one of the finest examples of Chinese architecture. Continuing on we visit Tianenmen Square and Summer palace. This evening we depart on the Z19 21:24 sleeper train to Xian.
Arrive Xi’an at 8 am, we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. We visit Huaqing Hot Springs, a scenic spot in the shadow of Li Mountain. Before visiting the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site, we visit a workshop where we see the process used to create the terracotta figurines. In battle formation, the Terracotta Warriors are one of China’s most awesome sights.
Today, we visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Muslim Quarter. Encircling the old city is Xi’an’s medieval City Wall, where we enjoy a hired bike ride. This afternoon we fly to Shanghai where upon arrival we will transfer you to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure.
Once known for its decadent magnetism that attracted fortune-seekers and adventurers, Shanghai looks like a European city in a Chinese setting. A stroll along the famous Shanghai Bund confirms this. Today, we visit the Oriental Pearl TV tower, explore the Jade Buddha Temple, charming Yuyuan Gardens, and the Old City where we can opt to shop on Nanjing Road. We end our day with a cruise on the Huangpu river to see the city lights.
Travelling west by train, we journey to Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. One of China’s most charming cities, it’s fame rests on it’s waterways, and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and gardens. A cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty. Renown for it’s silk, we also visit a silk workshop before returning to Shanghai where we fly to Sanya.
Sanya is a noted tourist resort with mountains, sea, river and city. For your remaining days with us enjoy a unique tropical oceanic landscape that is totally different from the other provinces of China. Sanya Bay, Yalong Bay and Dadonghai, all golden seaboards of Sanya, are some of the first choices for visitors to spend their holidays.
The next days are free for you to relax or explore on your own.
