Don some comfortable shoes. Today we drive out of the city to Badaling, where we can walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall that snakes for thousands of kilometres is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! Later on we continue onto Summer Palace, set on Kunming Lake, to view the lavishly decorated temples, halls and courts, reconstructed in 1902
This morning, We explore the heart of Beijing including the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries and seat of the emperors. Entering through the Gate of Heavenly Peace (replete with Chairman Mao’s portrait), we enjoy a guided walk of this old city within a city. Later on we visit the Temple of Heaven. This evening we transfer you to Beijinf train station for your overnight train to Xian
Arrive Xi’an at 8 am, we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. We visit Huaqing Hot Springs, a scenic spot in the shadow of Li Mountain. Before visiting the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site, we visit a workshop where we see the process used to create the terracotta figurines. In battle formation, the Terracotta Warriors are one of China’s most awesome sights.
Today, we visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Muslim Quarter. Encircling the old city is Xi’an’s medieval City Wall, where we enjoy a hired bike ride. Late afternoon flight to Chengdu
After breakfast you will venture to the Panda Centre. Located just 10km away from down-town Chengdu, the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Centre has been created and imitates the pandas' natural habitat in order that they might have the best possible environment for rearing and breeding. Afternoon high speed train to Chongqing where you will be met by our guide and transfer to your Yagtze cruise for overnight.
Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the 3rd longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south, and wending its way through eight very different provinces. Enjoy spectacular vistas passing through all of the famous Gorges Qutangxia Gorge, Wuxia Gorge, Xiling Gorge on your way to Yichang.
Here marks the end of your cruise. This morning after disembarking you will be transferred to airport for your flight to Shanghai. On arrival our representative will transfer you to hotel
Today, we visit the Oriental Pearl TV tower, explore the Jade Buddha Temple, charming Yuyuan Gardens, and the Old City where we can enjoy shopping on Nanjing Road.
Travelling west, we journey to Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. One of China’s most charming cities, it’s fame rests on it’s waterways, and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and gardens. A cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty. Renown for it’s silk, we also visit a silk workshop before returning to Shanghai.
Today we bid you farewell with a departure transfer to the Airport. Based on the magical places you have visited in China I am sure you will have many special memories to ponder on your long flight home.
