Great Wall

Day 1: Beijing - Chengdu

This morning make your own way to Beijing airport for your flight to Chengdu. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and taken for a light lunch and briefing on the upcoming holiday before a visiting a local cooking school. Over the next three hours you will be taught several traditional Sichuan cuisine then after we sample the fruits of your labor. Later you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Chengdu

Today with your guide enjoy a visit to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding a short drive out of town. Afterwards, visit the Wuhou Memorial Temple, the Tomb of Wang Jian and Jinli Lu Street - part of the old city where open air theatre and Sichuan Opera are performed in the evening. This evening be sure to Wander through the night markets trying the local food for a taste of local life.

Day 3: Chengdu - Emei Shan

Driving to Leshan the morning is spent exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Dafo (Great Buddha) Driving onward you can take in the views from Emei Shan (Mt Emei) also a UNESCO Site due to its incredible natural beauty and historical Buddhist sites. Arriving at Baoguo, located at the foot of the Mountain, we visit the Temple of Baoguo. Free time to explore the town.

Day 4: Emei Shan - Chengdu

This morning we travel by cable car to the top of Mt Emei to tour the magnificent Wannian temple. Returning to Chengdu the remainder of the day is free.

Day 5: Chengdu - Songpan

This morning head to the airport for your flight to Jiuzhaigou where you guide will be waiting to meet you and later transfer you to Songpan (30 Kms) – This evening you will go out for a walk and enjoy a local dinner with your guide who will give you an informal briefing about the next few days.

Day 6: Songpan

The region is inhabited by Hui, Tibetan and Qiang ethnic minorities which make the area very interesting in deed. This morning you will saddle up and head out by horse to explore virgin forest trails making stops en route to visit with Ethnic Minority villagers to gain great insight into their culture unique to this region. Tonight you will spend time with a local ethnic family whom will be your hosts.

Day 7: Songpan

Today you will journey back to Songpan by horseback exploring other interesting villages and beauty spots along the way. Arriving into town you will embark on a guided exploration of the Old town area of the city with its vibrant blend of cross cultural influences.

Day 8: Songpan - Jiuzhaigou

Morning you will journey by road to see the Huanglong Monastery. Afterwards take a relaxing stroll by the region’s picturesque calcium travertine’s resembling a terraced field, the travertines flow gently into a series of multi-coloured, mineral rich ponds beneath then continue through stunning scenery to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Reserve area.

Day 9: Jiuzhaigou

Today is spent exploring the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Reserve. Located in the high Min Shan mountain range, the Jiuzhaigou reserve is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty. Natural points of interest we will see today are Pearl Beach Falls, Long Lake Nurilong Falls (the widest waterfall in China) and more.

Day 10: Jiuzhaigou

Today we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Beijing.
