Ni Hao! Welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Our local team will greet you at Beijing Airport and assist with the transfer to your hotel, where you can sit back and relax after your long flight.
This morning, we explore the heart of Beijing including the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries and seat of the emperors. In the afternoon, we visit the Temple of Heaven where we enjoy time taking in the amazing Ming Dynasty architecture. Tonight, we enjoy a Welcome Dinner of Peking Duck at a city restaurant.
Don some comfortable shoes. Today we drive out of the city to Juyong Guan, where we walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall that snakes for thousands of kilometres is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! We then make a visit to a Jade Centre and Cloisonne workshop, where we’ll see first-hand the unique Chinese art of combining copper and enamel to make decorative pieces. In the afternoon we visit the Ming Tombs and Sacred Way before returning to Beijing for a close up view of the Olympics venues of the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. After dinner, take in a spectacular Chinese Acrobatics show.
This morning we head out to the Summer Palace, set in a park, two thirds of which is a lake. Built on the north of the lake, the palaces, theatre, bridges and marble boat make this a picturesque sight. In the afternoon you have free time to explore the city at your leisure - maybe opt for one of our optional tours and activities. This morning we fly onto Xi'an, home to the famous Terracotta Warriors. Today we visit the excavation site. Standing in battle formation, the Terracotta Warriors are one of China’s most awesome sights. This evening we dine on a delicious dumpling banquet whilst enjoying a Tang Dynasty music and dance performance.
This morning we visit the Shaanxi Provincial Historical Museum. For lunch enjoy watching the art of making noddles before dining on a tasty meal. In the afternoon, we visit Xi’an's medieval City Wall where we enjoy a hired bike ride.
After hotel check out, we fly onto Shanghai and continue onto Suzhou, known as the 'Venice of the East'. One of China’s most charming cities, its fame rests on its waterways and canals which are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and gardens. A cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty. Also renowned for its silk, we will visit a silk workshop, and also take you on a guided visit to the Humble Administrators Garden.
Today we tour the town of Tongli, an ancient town surrounded by 5 lakes and divided into many small islands. We then head on to Wuxi for overnight at the Grand Park Hotel.
Today take in the beautiful natural landscapes of Wuxi whilst visiting the Lingshan Grand Buddha and Freshwater Pearl Farm. Today's lunch is a local delicacy of Pork Ribs. We then continue onto Shanghai for the night.
This morning enjoy a walking tour of this bustling Metropolis - we take in the Bund, alongside the Huangpu River, the shopping district along Nanjing Road, and the Ming Dynasty Yuyuan Garden. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your leisure.
This morning we take in amazing works of art at the Shanghai Museum. We then depart for Hangzhou, where we enjoy a boat cruise on West Lake. After lunch, we view colourful fish at Flower Harbour Park. This evening's dinner is a feast of local cuisine.
After breakfast, we visit a tea plantation and taste a cup of Dragon Well Tea. We then transfer to the airport for your flight onto Wuhan. In the afternoon we visit the Panda House to see these endangered mammals up close.
Today we travel to Yichang to board your luxury river cruise boat. Once onboard, the staff will welcome you and provide further information about the trip itinerary and onboard services.
We set sail this morning! First stop is at Taipingxi where we disembark to visit the Three Gorges Dam Project - the world's largest dam. We then sail through the Xiling Gorge - at 41 miles, it is the longest and highest of the Three Gorges.
Disembarking at Wushan, we board small river boats to cruise along the Shenning Stream. Passing through stunning rock formations, you may also see cheeky monkeys along the river banks. After returning to the boat, we cruise through Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge.
Today's shore excursion visits the relocation villages of either Fengdu, accessed by cable car, or Wanzhou, formed by the dam projects. The visit will depend on the river conditions. We will also visit the Hope Elementary School.
Today your river cruise comes to an end. After disembarking in Chongqing, we have a quick visit to the city centre before boarding your flight to Guilin. This afternoon we visit the Elephant Trunk Hill and the Reed Flute Caves to see the stunning lime formations.
Today we cruise along the River Li to Yangshuo, taking in the sights of the local people going about their day to day lives. See cormorant fishermen whilst enjoying your lunch on board. Arriving in Yangshuo you will have free time to explore West Street, the oldest street in Yangshuo, and visit the pretty Yangshuo Local Village. We then return to Guilin for overnight.
This morning fly onto Shenzhen where you will be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel in Hong Kong. The rest of the day is free to explore the city.

After your final breakfast and hotel check out, we will transfer you to the airport for your flights home.
