Day 1: Beijing

Today, we begin our sightseeing of the nation’s capital. Tiananmen Square, partly framed by illustrious Chang-an Avenue, is essentially the heart of Beijing. Heading back a few centuries, we step into the Forbidden City, the walled city of the former Chinese emperors. This afternoon we take rickshaws to explore the Hutongs of Beijing. As our trusty rickshaw driver peddles us through the network of alleys, old back lanes, traditional courtyards and compact houses, it gives us a fascinating snapshot of the city’s traditional way of life. Day 3: Beijing

Today, we drive beyond Beijing to Badaling, where we can walk a section of the famous Great Wall, built during the Ming Dynasty. Here, the 6m wide pathway with regular watchtowers makes a formidable defence. Though never directly attacked, the wall was taken over by aggressors sweeping around from the side. Later we visit a cloisonne workshop demonstrating the ancient Chinese art of combining copper and enamel to make decorative pieces. Continuing, we visit the tombs of the Ming emperors. Day 4: Beijing - Datong

Today we visit the Temple of Heaven, and the silk alley markets for some souvenir shopping and the Summer Palace, set on Kunming Lake. We then will drive by the Olympic Stadium "Birds Nest" for a photo on the way to the train station. Tonight you board your overnight train to Datong (schedule 23:43/06:00).

Day 5: Datong

Welcome to Datong, we will meet you at the train for your early arrival (roughly 06:00am). After hotel check-in and breakfast we head out to explore the Yungang Grottoes, Hanging Monastery. This evening is free time to relax in your own time.

Day 6: Datong - Pingyao

Today we continue exploring the area and visit the Huayan Temple, Shanhua temple, Nine Dragons' Wall, and the Museum. Later today we drive to Pingyao. OVERNIGHT PINGYAO - Pingyao Hongshanyi Hotel

Day 7: Pingyao - Taiyuan

Today, we explore Pingyao's ancient town including Rishengchang Bank, Ming Qing Street, City wall and Qiao's courtyard. Later today, we drive to Taiyuan. OVERNIGHT TAIYUAN - Wuzhou Hotel

Day 8: Taiyuan - Xi'an

This morning we visit to Jin Temple. Later in the day we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Xi'an.

Day 9: Xi'an

Exploring the city, we visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, enjoy a bike ride on top of the City Wall and check out the Muslim Quarter and Great Mosque. Tonight you attend the Tang Dynasty show and dumpling dinner.

Day 10: Xi'an - Chengdu

We visit Huaqing Hot Springs, a scenic spot in the shadow of Li Mountain. Before visiting the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site, we visit a workshop where we see the process used to create the terracotta figurines. In battle formation, the Terracotta Warriors are one of China’s most awesome sights. Later today, we fly to Chengdu.

Day 11: Chengdu

We visit the Panda Research and Breeding Centre, Jinli Street, Tea House and also witness a Sichuan Opera Show.

Day 12: Chengdu - Yangtze & Three Gorges

After breakfast today you board the train to Chongqing. Chongqing is a modern city, China's fourth municipality after Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin - you have some free time. After dinner tonight you will board your 4 star Yangtze river cruise.

Day 13: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the 3rd longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south, and wending its way through eight very different provinces. Enjoy spectacular vistas passing through all of the famous Gorges Qutangxia Gorge, Wuxia Gorge, Xiling Gorge on your way to Yichang.

Day 14: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Day 15: Yangtze & Three Gorges - Guilin

Today marks the end of your cruise, upon arrival into Yichang we will collect you and transfer you through to Wuhan for your flight to Guilin. Upon arrival into Guilin we will collect you from the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 16: Guilin - Yangshuo

This morning your Li River cruise departs from downtown Guilin for a full days excursion. The 90 Km Li River cruise is the centerpiece of any trip to northeastern Guangxi Province. Gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky. Bear witness to rural China as peasants reap rice paddies, school kids and fisherman float by on bamboo rafts. After passing many world sights you arrive in to Yangshuo.

Day 17: Yangshuo

This morning we will venture to Longsheng for touring of the highlights of this area which will include Dragons Backbone rice terraces, Longsheng town and surrounding villages, returning later to Guilin. We will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Guangzhou, your on the go arrangements end here with your flight ticket.
