Great Wall

Day 1: Beijing

Welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Enjoy an arrival transfer to our hotel, where you sit back and relax after your long flight.

Forbidden City

Day 2: Beijing

This morning, we explore the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries. Entering through the Gate of Heavenly Peace, we enjoy a guided walk of this old city. Tonight, we enjoy a Peking Duck Banquet at a city restaurant.

Day 3: Beijing

Today we drive out of the city to Badaling, where we can walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! We visit the tombs of the Ming emperors. We also visit to a cloisonne workshop, where we’ll see the unique art of combining copper and enamel to make decorative pieces.

Day 4: Beijing

Day 5: Beijing

Day 6: Beijing - Tianjin

We will transfer you to the station for the fast train to Tianjin. Upon arrival in Tianjin you will need to make your own way from the train station to the hotel.

Day 7: Tianjin

A free day - to visit friends.

Day 8: Tianjin - Lanzhou

The train will take you back to Beijing, where you will be met and transferred to the airport for the flight to Lanzhou. Your hotel has been booked in Lanzhou. Please note you will need to make your own way to the train station in Tianjin and will also need to make your own way from the airport in Lanzhou to the hotel.

Day 9: Lanzhou

A free day - to visit friends.

Day 10: Lanzhou - Xi'an

We will fly you to XI'an and will meet you at the airport in Xi'an and transfer you to the hotel. This afternoon you will have a guided tour of the ciry, including the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the old city and old city walls and the Muslim Quarter. PLease note that you have to make your own way from the hotel to the airport in Lanzhou.

Day 11: Xi'an - Guilin

Today's highlights will be a visit to Huaqing Hot Springs, a scenic spot in the shadow of Li Mountain. Before visiting the Terracotta Warrior site, we visit a workshop where we see the process used to create the terracotta figurines. We will transfer you to the airport for the late afternoon flight to Gujilin, where you will be met and transferred to the hotel.

Day 12: Guilin

Today you will enjoy a whole day Li River cruise. This morning your Li River cruise departs from downtown Guilin for a full day's excursion. Gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky. Bear witness to rural China as peasants reap rice paddies, school kids and fisherman float by on bamboo rafts.

Day 13: Guilin - Yangtze & Three Gorges

This morning you pay a visit to The Reed Flute Cave. Within the cave there are enchanting stalagmites, stone pillars, stele, stone curtains and stone flowers. Then we continue on to Elephant Trunk Hill, located at the confluence of the Taohua River and the Li River. Later we fly to Chongqing to Board your Yangtse River cruise after dinner.

Day 14: Yangtze & Three Gorges

Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the 3rd longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south, and wending its way through eight very different provinces. Enjoy spectacular vistas passing through all of the famous Gorges Qutangxia Gorge, Wuxia Gorge, Xiling Gorge on your way to Yichang.

Day 15: Yangtze & Three Gorges

A day to relax on board the cruise boat.

Day 16: Yangtze & Three Gorges - Shanghai

Today marks the end of your cruise, upon arrival in to Wuhan we take you straight through to the airport in Yichang for your flight to Shanghai. Arriving there, we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel where you can unwind.

Day 17: Shanghai

Today starts off after breakfast for a full days excursion, highlights will be a visit to the Bund The Bund, also called the Zhongshan Road, is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. Onward to see the Jade Buddha Temple, the famous Yu Gardens and a trip to the Bazaar.

Day 18: Shanghai

Travelling west, we journey to Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. One of China’s most charming cities, it’s fame rests on it’s waterways, and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and gardens. A cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty. Renown for it’s silk, we also visit a silk workshop before returning to Shanghai.

Day 19: Shanghai

Today we bid you farewell with a departure transfer to the airport
