Welcome to Beijing! Arrival transfer from the airport to our hotel.
This morning, we tour the centre of Beijing including the massive Tiananmen Square and the sprawling Forbidden City. Boasting some 9999 rooms, the city within a city was once the sole preserve of the Chinese emperors.
Today, travel beyond Beijing to Badaling, where you can walk (almost climb on some sections) on the Great Wall. Continuing on, a visit is made to the tombs of the Ming emperors, where some 13 emperors were interred. Return to your Beijing hotel for a free evening.
Visit Silk Alley markets and the Summer Palace with its UNESCO-listed imperial gardens, located on Kunming Lake. Tonight catch an overnight sleeper train to Xi'an.
Arrival transfer to your hotel. Today, we visit the archaeological site of the Terracotta Warriors, Huanqing Hot Springs, a scenic spot in the shadow of Li Mountain and a workshop where crafts people make clay warrior replicas.
Today, we visit the city symbol, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, before enjoying a leisurely bike ride on Xi’an’s medieval City Wall, which dates from the Ming dynasty. We then visit the local Muslim Quarter and Great Mosque. Later a transfer to the station for the sleeper train to Chengdu.
Chengdu, home of the Giant Panda and capital of Sichuan province is famed for its outstanding natural beauty, fiery cuisine and China’s first, largest and best known Panda research and breeding centre. Arrive Chengdu station and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to spend at leisure.
Today we tour Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding a short drive out of town. Afterwards, visit the Wuhou Memorial Temple, the Tomb of Wang Jian and Jinli Lu street - part of the old city where open air theatre and Sichuan Opera are performed in the evening.
Driving to Leshan our morning is spent exploring the the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Dafo (Great Buddha), which is carved into the red sandstone face of Lingyun Hill overlooking the treacherous confluence of the Min, Qingyi and Dadu rivers below it. Return to Chengdu for your flight to Guilin. Arrival transfer to your hotel in Yangshuo.
Yangshuo offers a world of opportunity for exploring the great outdoors. With breath-taking beauty, striking limestone mountain scenery and pure clean rivers, one can choose to go swimming or tubing down the Yu Long River, hike or hire a bicycle or motorbike and head off on one of the many mountain trails. Enjoy the day at your leisure.
This morning we drive to Longsheng. Here, we explore the rice terraces of the Dragon’s Backbone! Then drive to Guilin airport for your evening flight to Hangzhou.
Today is spent exploring this beautiful area including a visit Six Harmonies Pagoda and Chinese Tea Museum, the West Lake, Lingyin Temple and take a bicycle ride. Evening at your leisure.
Morning drive to Tunxi. Sitting at the foot of Mt Huangshan, Tunxi is an ancient town that is set around the junction of two rivers in the southernmost area of Anhui Province. It’s famous ancient street is lined with many ancient, yet very well preserved buildings in the Ming and Qing style. Upon arriving in Tunxi, the remainder of the day at leisure.
Visit Huangshan by cable car. Considered the most beautiful mountain in China, Yellow Mountain or Huangshan is one of a range of 72 peaks in the south of Anhui Province. Enjoy the day with your guide to explore amazing scenery and trails in the reserve area.

Returning back down on the cable car we drive to Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. One of China’s most charming cities, Suzhou’s fame rests on it’s waterways, and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and UNESCO-listed gardens.
Today enjoy a cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty. Also visit a silk workshop and the Humble Administrator’s Garden. Remainder of the day at leisure.
En route to Shanghai stop off at lovely Zhouzhuang - an ancient town featuring traditional buildings, small bridges and tree-lined waterways astride the Jinghang Canal. Upon arrival enjoy a tour of the Bund area and a cruise on the Huangpu River.
Today a tour the Jade Buddha Temple, Yuyuan Garden, Old City area, Oriental Pearl TV tower and Shanghai Museum. Remainder of the day at your leisure.
