Day 1: Shanghai

Huan ying, welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Airport arrival transfer and hotel check in. The remainder of the day offers free time.

Day 2: Shanghai

Today we tour many of the city’s top spots - Yu Gardens and Bazaar- Shanghai’s finest traditional garden and the old city, People's Square, Shanghai Museum and Nanjing Road.

Day 3: Shanghai

Enjoy a tour to the Bund, Pudong and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and French Concession.

Today, we journey to an oriental Venice via high speed train - ancient Suzhou interwoven by a series of canals and pretty waterways. We cruise on the Grand Canal at 1800km in length it's the longest canal on earth and ranks alongside the Great Wall as China’s greatest engineering achievement, and visit a silk workshop.

Day 5: Suzhou - Wuzhen

We drive to Wuzhen today to enjoy a guided tour of the city.

Day 6: Wuzhen - Tunxi

We drive to Tunxi today to visit in old town. Sitting at the foot of Mt Huangshan, Tunxi is an ancient town that is set around the junction of two rivers in the southernmost area of Anhui Province. It’s famous ancient street is lined with many ancient, yet very well preserved buildings in the Ming and Qing style.

Day 7: Tunxi - Huangshan (Yellow Mountain)

Visit Huangshan by cable car. Considered the most beautiful mountain in China, Yellow Mountain or Huangshan is one of a range of 72 peaks in the south of Anhui Province. Set amidst rural landscapes and with its slopes clad in pine, the ethereal scenery is nothing short of breathtaking. Some 9,000 steps have been carved into the mountain, for those that want to walk up the most stunning stairwell on earth, though our excursion does include a return cable-car journey to the scenic area, where you’ll stay for two nights in a hotel at the top. Touring today includes: Shixin Peak, Lion Peak, Refreshing Terrace, Flower growing out of writing brush and Monkey gazing at the sea.

Day 8: Huangshan (Yellow Mountain)

This morning witness a beautiful sunrise before todays touring of the Clouds Dispelling Pavilion, Xihai Grand Canyon, Flying Stone, Bright Top Peak and more.

Day 9: Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) - Hangzhou

Cable car down to the city, where you will be met and transferred to Hangzhou.

Day 10: Hangzhou

Hangzhou is unusual for a Chinese city, in that it encompasses large tracts of greenery which might normally be classified as countryside. This is thanks to Xi Hu, the large lake that Hangzhou straddles. The lake is dotted with various islands and causeways, whilst the shoreline offers wonderful vistas of green trees, hills, flowers, pavillions, pagodas and boats. Hangzhou is also the southern terminus of the Grand Canal and an important centre for silk, tea and paper-making.

Day 11: Hangzhou - Shanghai

Transfer to the train station for your high speed train to Shanghai, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Time at leisure to explore Shanghai.
