Day 1: Beijing
Huan ying, welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Airport arrival transfer and hotel check in.
Day 2: Beijing
This morning, we tour the centre of Beijing including the massive Tiananmen Square and the sprawling Forbidden City. Boasting some 9999 rooms, the city within a city was once the sole preserve of the Chinese emperors. Afternoon free.
Day 3: Beijing
Today, we drive beyond Beijing to Mutianyu and walk a section of the famous Great Wall. Return to your hotel by around 4 pm.
Day 4: Beijing - Xi'an
Free day. This evening included transfer to the train station for the sleeper train to Xian.
Day 5: Xi'an
Arrival transfer to your hotel. Later we tour the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site where some 7,000 warriors stand in battle ready position and a factory demonstrating how the warriors are crafted. Evening at leisure.
Day 6: Xi'an - Chengdu
Today you fly to Chengdu - Arrival Chengdu around transfer to your hotel enjoy some free time to explore at leisure.
Day 7: Chengdu
Today we transfer you to spend the day at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding a short drive out of town. Evening at leisure.
Day 8: Chengdu - Emei Shan
Driving to Leshan our morning is spent exploring the the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Dafo (Great Buddha), which is carved into the red sandstone face of Lingyun Hill. Driving onward take in the views from Emei Shan (Mt Emei) designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its incredible natural beauty and historical Buddhist sites. Arriving at Baoguo, located at the foot of the Mountain, we visit the Temple of Baoguo.
Day 9: Emei Shan - Kunming
This morning we travel by cable car to the top of Mt Emei to tour the magnificent Wannian temple. The oldest structure on the mountain. Returning to Chengdu we head to the airport and fly to Kunming and arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 10: Kunming
Spend the day exploring with your guide the stunning Western Hills and Dragon Gate Grotto after which we visit the stunning petrified Stone Forest.
Day 12: Lijiang
Arriving into Lijiang arrival transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the day exploring this amazing city.
Day 13: Lijiang - Wenhai and Lashihai
Seeing the reflection of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain on the surface of a picturesque lake, is the highlight of the 3 - 4 hour hike toward Wenhai Eco lodge. Upon arrival explore the village and drink tea with a local family.
Day 14: Wenhai and Lashihai
This morning you visit Yi Village before embarking on a 4 hour hike to visit the Lashishai community. Here, you’ll meet and stay overnight with a traditional Naxi indigenous family. Overnight - Lashishai homestay
Day 15: Wenhai and Lashihai
En route to Liming (approx 3 hour drive) visit the town of Shigu, located on the first bend of the Yangtze River. Here you undertake a 3 hour hike (or pony ride if you choose) to the 3000m summit of the Thousand Tortoise Mountain. After enjoying the spectacular panoramic views continue your walk (downhill) to Liming. Overnight - Liming Guesthouse
Day 16: Wenhai and Lashihai - Tiger Leaping Gorge
After breakfast we head by car to the excitingly named Tiger leaping gorge on the Yangtze River after the road transfer we enjoy our day hiking to the guesthouse.
Day 17: Tiger Leaping Gorge - Shanghai
Enjoy your day hiking on the gorge before returning to Lijiang and catching the last evening flight to Shanghai - Arrival transfer to your hotel included.
