This morning, We explore the heart of Beijing including the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries and seat of the emperors. Entering through the Gate of Heavenly Peace, we enjoy a guided walk of this old city within a city. Tonight, we enjoy a Chinese Acrobatic show after dinner.
Don some comfortable shoes. Today we drive out of the city to Badaling, where we can walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall that snakes for thousands of kilometres is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! Continuing a short distance from Badaling, we visit the tombs of the Ming emperors. This evening at 21.24 we board the Z19 soft sleeper train to Xian.
Upon arrival at 08.25, a guide will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Later today we visit the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site, we visit a workshop where we see the process used to create the terracotta figurines. In battle formation, the Terracotta Warriors are one of China’s most awesome sights. Encircling the old city is Xi’an’s medieval City Wall, where we enjoy a hired bike ride.
This morning we will transfer you to the Airport in Xian for your flight to Guilin. Arrive Gulin and we will be there to meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Today we visit to The Reed Flute Cave, within the cave there are enchanting stalagmites, stone pillars, stele, stone curtains and stone flowers. Then we continue on to Elephant Trunk Hill located at the confluence of the Taohua (Peach Blossom) River and the Li River.
This morning we will take you on a day trip to Longsheng. Longsheng located in the northwest of Guilin City is famous for its enchanting natural beauty and unique folk culture. It is well known for its Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces, Longsheng Hot Spring National Park and Huaping National Nature Reserve.
This morning your Li River cruise departs from downtown Guilin for a full days excursion. The 90 Km Li River cruise is a highlight of any trip to the northeastern Guangxi Province with gorgeous karst peaks, peasants reaping rice paddy fields and fisherman floating by on bamboo rafts.
Early morning flight to Chengdu. Met by our guide on arrival and transferred to Wolong Nature reserve. Wolong is a natural reserve spanning across some 494,200 acres of high altitude forest and in 1963 it became the first reserve designed specifically to protect the Giant Panda. Wolong is an area of spectacular beauty with snow capped mountains and wild forests and many other endangered species of animals and birdlife.
After breakfast today, enjoy a full days guided tour of Wolong Nature Reserve. Later this afternoon we will transfer you back to Chengdu. Rest of the day is free and at your leisure.
Morning train from Chengdu to Chongqing. Met by our guide on arrival. Enjoy a city tour. Later this evening we will board our Yangtze River cruise.
Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the 3rd longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south, and winding its way through eight very different provinces. For today and tomorrow enjoy spectacular vistas passing through the famous Qutangxia, Wuxia and Xiling Gorge, on your way to Yichang. During the cruise, we will also sail through the new ship locks of the impressive Three Gorges Dam construction.
Today marks the end of your cruise, we arrive into Yichang around 13:00 our local guide will be there to meet you and transfer you straight to the airport for your flight to Beijing where you will spend your final night. Upon arrival in Beijing we will transfer you to the hotel.
