Huan ying, welcome to China and the start of your journey of a lifetime through the Orient! When you arrive at Beijing airport our local guide and driver await to transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of today is at your leisure.
Today you take a journey outside of the city to the most famous wall in the world - the Great Wall of China. Take a walk or maybe even a climb on this famous section known as Badaling - a very fulfilling experience! When you have walked enough of the wall you return to Beijing.
This morning we tour the centre of Beijing, China's magnificent capital, including the massive Tian'anmen Square and the sprawling Forbidden City. Boasting some 9999 rooms, the city within a city was once the sole preserve of the Chinese emperors. This afternoon we take a rickshaw ride through the Hutongs of Beijing to see how a traditional way of life is maintained in a fast modernising mega city.
Today is entirely at your leisure to explore the city - we would highly recommend a walk in and around the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace.
This morning our driver brings you to the airport for your flight to Xian. Arriving here, meet our local team who will assist you to your hotel. After time to settle in, we visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and take a bicycle ride or walk along Xi’an medieval City Wall.
Today we explore the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site on a guided tour where some 7,000 warriors stand in battle ready position, and also visit a factory demonstrating how the warriors were crafted.
Spend the morning at leisure before flying to Chongqing, the start point for our exciting Yangtze River cruise. Before boarding the cruise we enjoy a stroll along Chongqing’s People’s Square in the city centre.
Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the third longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south and wending its way through eight very different provinces. The Gorges are a breathtaking sight! Over the next days whilst cruising, shore excursions are offered at no additional expense to Shibaozhai and Shennong stream, with its unique scenery and four natural gorges. Drift serenely along the stream in small, open ‘pea pod boats’, looking out upon lush greenery, jagged peaks and ancient villages of the Tujia people - one of the local ethnic minorities.
Disembarking from our cruise in Yichang at 11:30 our local driver is on hand to take you to the station for your high speed train to Wuhan where you will spend the night.
After breakfast we transfer to the station for your flights to Hong Kong. You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel in Kowloon.
Over the next few days, enjoy free time to discover the highlights of this compact metropolis that touches the sky. Hong Kong is known for its shopping so hit those malls and markets for some last minute souvenir hunting.
Sadly your journey has come to an end. We will collect and transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
