Day 1: Shanghai
Welcome to China and the start of your holiday! We will be there to meet you at Shanghai airport and the guide will transfer you to and travel with you on the Maglev train to Hongqiao to take the train to Suzhou, while driver takes your bags and meets you again at the Station. We then enjoy a days guided tour in Suzhou - the first stop is Net Master Garden, then it’s onto view the Ancient City Wall, a boat on the Grand Canal and a tour of a silk spinning factory. At the end of today we are transferred to the station for our train back to Shanghai and we are then transferred to our hotel for check in.
Day 2: Shanghai - Yichang
Today we tour Shanghai, taking in the following sites - the Bund, Yu Garden, old city and Nanjing Road. This afternoon we are transferred to the train station for our train to Yichang (K253, 1538/1532+1). Overnight - Shanghai Paradise Hotel
Day 3: Yichang - Yangtze & Three Gorges
On arrival at Yichang, we are met by our guide and transferred to board our Yangtze and Three Gorges cruise. Overnight - Train - 4 berth soft sleeper cabin
Day 4: Yangtze & Three Gorges
Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the 3rd longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south, and wending its way through eight very different provinces. Enjoy spectacular vistas passing through all of the famous Gorges Qutangxia Gorge, Wuxia Gorge, Xiling Gorge. Overnight - Deluxe
Day 7: Yangtze & Three Gorges - Chengdu
On arrival in Chongqing at 0900 we disembark or cruise boat and enjoy a city tour with our guide before being transferred to the train station for our train to Chengdu. On arrival we are met by our guide and transfer to our hotel for check in. Overnight - Deluxe
Day 8: Chengdu - Xi'an
Whole day guided visit to Chengdu Panda Breeding and Protection Centre. Located just 10km (6miles) away from downtown Chengdu, the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Centre has been created and imitates the pandas' natural habitat in order that they might have the best possible environment for rearing and breeding. It's a full day excursion where you will also get to see other endangered species. We are then transferred to the train station for our overnight train to Xian (K6, 2120/1215+1). Day 9: Xi'an
On arrival into Xian, we are met by our guide and transferred to our hotel. Today we have a guided visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and later take a casual bicycle ride on top of the 9 mile Xi’an City Wall (no need to go the entire way around) perimeter peeking down upon the lively city beneath us. Day 10: Xi'an - Beijing
Today we tour the famous Terracotta Warrior archaeological site where some 7,000 warriors stand in battle ready position and a factory demonstrating how the warriors are crafted. We are then transferred to the train station for our overnight train to Beijing. Overnight - Wan Nian Grand Hotel
Day 11: Beijing
Arrival into Beijing train station, from here you have your own arrangements. We wish you all the best for your remaining travels in China. Overnight - Train - 4 berth soft sleeper cabin
