The driver and the guide will meet you at your hotel around 8:30am and then we drive to Gubeikou section of Great Wall. Today we are going to hike for totally about 5 hours. We will first walk from the village up to the Great Wall. After getting to the wall, we will hike to the direction of Jinshanling. After a picnic lunch at the 24-eye Tower we walk down to the bottom of the mountains instead of continuing to trek on the Great Wall because the front area is used by the army and is not open to visitors. During the next one and half hours, we will walk on the mountain path, before we return to the wall in the end. Then we arrive at Jinshanling area. After walking around on the Great Wall of Jinshanling, we go down the mountains, where we will stay overnight at Jinshan Hotel.
We walk up to Jinshanling Great Wall again and head for the direction of Simatai. Today’s hike will take about 2.5 hours. We will pass some of the very famous watchtowers, such as the Big Jinshan Tower, the Small Jinshan Tower, the General Tower, the Dark Tower and so on. Simatai and Jinshanling sections of Great Wall are connected with each other. When getting to Simatai area you can see the faraway western part of Simaitai, where the highest place is Wangjing Tower, which is about 1,000 meters above sea level. After taking some photos at the eastern part of Simatai, we will walk down on the mountain path to the road where we will meet the driver and have lunch in a nice restaurant at Miyun District on the way back to Beijing. After lunch, we send you directly to your hotel.
We transfer you to the airport for your flight from Beijing to Kunming, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The capital of Yunnan Province, Kunming rests at 2000m above sea level! Its gentle weather and floral wealth have earned it the nickname ‘City of Eternal Spring’.
Excursion to Stone Forest. Celebrated as a natural wonder, it’s Yunnan’s most visited sight. As you stroll along the winding paths and lookout points, you’ll be in awe of the bizaare, tightly packed formations of almost ‘petrified’ stone that forms this unusual attraction 120 km from Kunming. Later in the day we visit the Bamboo Temple.
We fly to Shangri-la this morning. The Huge Songtanlin Monastery will show us the grand theory of Tibetan Buddhism. We also visit the Du kezong Old Town.
We will drive to Benzilan in the morning, which used to be a hot town in the Tea & Horse exchanging trade route. Here we will enjoy the wonder of Jinsha River, the upper branch of Yangtze. Back Shangri-la in the late afternoon.
From Luo jie Village, we travel to Bai Shui Tai, the original place of Naxi ethnic minority civilization then onto Tiger Leaping Gorge (by coach).
