Day 1 - 20 Dec : St Petersburg Welcome to Russia and the start of your holiday! Wanting more time in St Petersburg? This is the trip! Meet and greet arrival transfer from St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport. Transfer to hotel for registration and check-in. Tonight, around 2000hrs, our tip-filled Welcome Meeting takes place. 21 Dec: St Petersburg – breakfast Welcome to Peter’s city. Founded by Peter the Great in 1703, grandiose St Petersburg is designed around an intrinsic network of canals and rivers. Enjoy a coach orientation of St Pete’s. Afterwards, we enjoy a guided visit at the Hermitage - which houses one of the biggest and best art and antiquity collections on earth, the bulk of which was amassed by Catherine the Great. 23 Dec: St Petersburg – Vladimir – breakfast Free day. Perhaps take a stroll along Nevsky Prospekt, where you’ll find Gostinny Dvor shopping area stacked to the rafters with individual shops and boutiques. There are sections devoted to the sale of individual items such as hats and vodka, not to mention souvenirs and clothing. Overnight train south to Vladimir
24 Dec: Christmas Eve: Vladimir – breakfast Today, a visit to ancient Suzdal – a rural settlement packed with awesome buildings and churches. We’ll then thaw out at a steamy Russian banya (sauna) and enjoy lunch and a vodka. Later, relax before our Big Night Out - our Russian Christmas Eve dinner and party. Cheers! 25 Dec: Christmas day: Vladimir – Moscow – breakfast Merry Christmas! This morning, we undertake a tour of historic Vladimir - founded in 1108. Vladimir was the city that eventually gave way to Moscow as Russia’s capital. After lunch we drive to Moscow, arriving early evening. Lunch and overnight – Moscow
26 Dec: Moscow – breakfast Today, we ride the capital’s efficient Metro to Red Square, from where we enjoy a guided walking tour followed by a tour of the Kremlin. In Red Square, if Mr Lenin’s mausoleum is open, we’ll pay our respects to the grandfather of Soviet Communism for free. Rest of day free. Overnight - Moscow
27 Dec: Moscow – breakfast Free day. With our guide, we can visit Gorky Park and Sculpture Park. Gorky Park is Moscow’s most famous park, extending for more than 290 acres along the banks of the Moskva River and named in honour of the writer Maxim Gorky. Overnight – Moscow
