FROM USD $1,129

A one week break in Sharm el Sheikh with the famous Red Sea at your doorstep. Add an exciting excursion to either Cairo or Luxor for two days sightseeing, visiting the pyramids & Egyptian Museum or Valley of the Kings & grand Temples of Karnak.

Arrive into Sharm el Sheikh. We meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Close to Ras Mohammed National Marine Park on the Sinai Peninsular, Sharm is one of the world’s premier diving destinations and one of Egypt’s top Sinai resort towns. With hotels that cater for every whim, the naturally dramatic surrounding landscape, year-round dry and temperate climate and long stretches of calm beaches, Sharm is a Mecca for the sun lover in search of recreation. Scuba diving and snorkelling offer a spectacular and dazzling time for divers, whilst aqua pursuits such as banana boating, windsurfing and kayaking are offered by most hotels. There’s good nightlife and restaurants aplenty, and one can even play a round of golf, have a flutter at the casino or get in touch with the surrounding Bedouin communities on a hired camel or horse. Breathe in that fresh sea air as you unwind; this week is yours to enjoy! Overnight - Sharm el Sheikh

The Pyramids of Giza
Sharm el Sheikh - Cairo. Early morning flight to Cairo, a city where past and present meet, 2000 years of Islamic, Coptic Christian and Jewish culture. To the west lies the ancient Egyptian city of Memphis (Giza), the renowned capital of the Old Kingdom and the site of the Pyramids. The largest pyramid at Giza Plateau - Cheops, is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. Equally impressive, sitting in front is the Sphinx, a statue with the face of a man and the body of a lion. Carved out of the surrounding limestone bedrock, at 57 metres long and 20 metres in height, the Sphinx is a mega-structure in its own right. Guided tour of the Pyramids at Giza and Egyptian Museum. Day 7 is spent at leisure, consider visiting the ever colourful Khan el Khalili bazaar or take an evening dinner boat cruise along the Nile. Overnight - Cairo (B:2)
Cairo - Sharm el Sheikh. Flight back to Sharm el Sheikh in time for onward connecting flight back home. (B)

Luxor option - days 6 - 8

You can choose to travel to Luxor instead of Cairo. The ancient Egyptian city of Thebes - 4000 year old Luxor, straddles the River Nile. The ruins of the temple complexes at Karnak and Luxor stand within the modern city located on the East Bank. The West Bank is a myriad of monuments, temples and tombs that comprise The Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. The valleys reveal landscape partially pocked with subtle openings to often highly decorated tombs (including King Tutankhamen's), constructed to once house the mighty pharaohs and their families awaiting their passage into the after-life.

Return flights Sharm - Luxor. 2 nights 4 or 5 star hotels. Guided sightseeing of Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and Temple of Hatshepsut. Afternoon visits to Karnak and Luxor Temple by horse and carriage. Felucca sailing on day 7. Return to Sharm on day 8, in time for onward connecting flight home.
