Abu Simbel by Road
Discover the awe-inspiring Temples of Abu Simbel on an early morning excursion by road from Aswan. Renowned for its rock-cut façade, the temple is guarded by four colossal seated statues of Ramses II, gazing out across the waters of Lake Nasser. Once buried beneath desert sands and lost for centuries, Abu Simbel was rediscovered in 1813 and later painstakingly restored, revealing one of ancient Egypt’s most remarkable monuments in all its glory. This must-see excursion can be added to any of our Signature Journeys or Budget tours that travel to Aswan.
