Sole survivors from the ancient Greek-listed Seven Wonders of the World, the pyramids are the planet’s oldest tourist attraction! Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. Constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks it is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. Continuing to Saqqara, we can explore the myriad tombs and temples at this site and see Zhoser’s step pyramid - constructed by Imhotep, the pharaoh’s chief architect in 2700 BC! Later there is a chance to have dinner before the overnight train to Aswan.

Day 3

Arrive and check into our hotel. A visit out of town takes us to the mighty High Dam – a modern feat of engineering - creating the world’s largest artificial lake, Lake Nasser! This afternoon's highlight is a leisurely boat trip to Agilika Island for Philae Temple for a guided tour of the romantic Philae Temple - dedicated to the goddess Isis. As the sun sets, free time to shop in the colourful souqs and markets or simply relax and watch an amazing sunset in Egypt's southern most town straddling the River Nile.

Day 4

Aswan - Nile felucca cruise. Optional early morning drive to Abu Simbel, the famous the rock-cut temple of King Ramses II, the Great Builder. This afternoon, we board our Nile felucca for a 2 night voyage downstream on the River Nile. If sailing by felucca is not your style, consider upgrading to a 5 star luxury Nile Cruise with our Nile Cruise Upgrade.

Day 6

Kom Ombo - Edfu - Luxor. Disembarking near Kom Ombo, we enjoy a guided tour of the Temple of Kom Ombo - dedicated to the crocodile headed god - Sobek and the Temple of Horus at Edfu, before driving north to Luxor. Home of the legendary Valley of the Kings and Temple of Karnak, 4000 year-old Luxor is ancient Egypt at its best. Enjoy some rest and relaxation. Tonight, an optional visit is available to the Temple of Luxor, alternatively enjoy the facilities of your hotel.

Day 7

Luxor - Cairo. Take flight over ancient Luxor with an optional hot air balloon ride very early this morning before touring the West Bank of the Nile. An early start allows us to avoid some of the fierce midday heat as we venture to the tomb strewn Valley of the Kings. Highlights of the visit include the Colossi of Memnon, a massive pair of statues that stand silent against a historic backdrop, the Valleys of the Kings and the awesome colonnaded Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.

The Valley of the Kings is studded with often highly decorated tombs, constructed to once house the regal sarcophagi enclosed mummies of the mighty pharaohs awaiting passage into the after-life. This afternoon after lunch and time to relax we visit the colossal Temple of Karnak, with its stone-columned Hypostle Hall. Tonight, we return by overnight train to Cairo.
Overnight: Sleeper Train  |  Breakfast

All I can say is WOW. I have never had a trip as amazing as I did with OTG. The smooth and seamless operation of pulling it all together is remarkable, from the moment you arrive in Egypt there is someone waiting and assisting you. Achmat was there on arrival his friendly face welcoming you into the chaos that is Cairo. It’s a huge help having him there to assist you in going through immigration and customs and then even more of a blessing when you step out of the airport into a myriad of taxi drivers all vying for your attention and business.

My guide Dino, was phenomenal to say the least. His wealth of knowledge and expertise really made him stand out in my mind as one of the best guides I have had. As I had been to Egypt before my goal was to experience the real Egypt and be a part of the local culture. This was 100% achieved.

I was impressed that on day 2 at our welcome briefing just how honest he was with what to expect. So many other guides from my travels around the world sugar coat local situations, trying to ease the transition from Western Culture into Middle Eastern Culture.

The hotels that were selected for this trip were superb, right from location through to the amenities that they offered. They were all clean and the staff friendly. Even when I was locked out of my room 

As a single traveller I am always nervous about going on group tours as you never know who you are sharing with unless you pay for the single supplement. I don’t like doing single supplements as its almost like separating your self from the group. Part of OTG tours is to form relationships and bonds with your fellow travellers & OTG did such a great job with this. You paired me with such a wonderful person who contributed and made my trip all that more memorable.

Along the way we bumped into Sam who happened to be the tour guide who looked after my cousins on their trip in December and together him and Dino really made me feel like part of the family and a colleague (being that I am a travel agent)

Everything from the Hotels to the Felucca to the transfers and everything in between was so thought out and well executed that I could not find a flaw at all.

On the last day I had the privilege of having Zuzu take us around Cairo and the Museum and this in itself was a treat. He has a wealth of knowledge that he is ready to impart and I am so glad to hear that he is back as part of the family.

I feel very privileged to be associated with a company of such a high calibre and I completely understand where you get your reputation from.

Thank you for welcoming me into the OTG family.

PS: If you are hiring please shout.. very interested 

My partner and I had a wonderful adventure. We enjoyed every moment of our tour. Although I have already personally sent some feedback about how much we enjoyed ourselves, on discussion with my partner we would like to recommend our guide for a tour leader award. I was once a tour guide myself and thought that Mahmoud was excellent, a really lovely and knowledgeable person, for whom we feel a great deal of respect.

On the Go Tours I had an awesome time on the KING TUTANKHAMEN - 9 DAYS Egypt tour. Thank you for all the staff that made the trip a pleasant and enjoyable one. I was impressed starting at the airport. An On the Go rep-Ahkmed helped me through immigration and explained how long it will take from the airport to the hotel. I felt safe and welcomed. The next day Mido and Momo gave us a briefing on Egypt culture and tips for shopping, the locals and expectations. Momo for sure was a great tour guide, accommodating each of us and also giving us a great intro to Egyptian history. Momo always had such energy and also knew when the group wanted to relax and when to keep going. The crew on the felucca - Shallufah's men were great and hospitable. Best part of this trip was that every little detail was taken care of. On the way home it was the same hospitality I was picked up from the hotel to the airport and was escorted through immigration. All transportations from the busses to the felucca were great but my least fave was the train ride. Other than that overall it was a great experience to fulfill my childhood dream to visit the Great Pyramids in Egypt.

We returned yesterday after a fabulous stay in Egypt. We have enjoyed every minute and found the tour well balanced, informative and entertaining! For myself, having waited 40 years to see the sights and experience the culture, I was not disappointed, and the trip fulfilled all my expectations. Our hotels were great and the service too, we had great food and felt well cared for.

Our tour guide was excellent, always good humoured, helpful and a mine of information. Nothing was too much trouble and our group all enjoyed his company. His extensive archaeological knowledge and willingness to talk about Egyptian life and history made every excursion interesting and exciting and we appreciated his help with the street traders, language, and cultural differences that we encountered..

Thanks to all who were involved with the planning and coordination of the tour. We will be recommending others to follow in our footsteps to Egypt with your company.

Our time with Mahmoud was excellent. His knowledge of all things for Ancient Egypt and his enthusiasm was suburb and really added to the enjoyment of our trip. He was always on hand to give us advise and support. He went out of his way to ensure that we had every opportunity to see and experience all that was on offer. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Egypt and would have no problems in recommending this tour to friends and family. I would like to thank Mahmoud for making our trip so special.

Prices shown are per person travelling. 'Twin/Double' prices per person apply when there are 2 people travelling, sharing a room. The 'Single supplement' applies for single travellers who require their own room and needs to be added to the 'Twin/Double' price. If you are happy to be paired up with another single traveller of the same sex on your tour, this can be arranged, thus avoiding the single person supplement.
