Family on camels at the Pyramids of Giza

Postcards from Egypt

Here's what some of our past traveller's have to say about their holiday with us:

I recently did a nine day tour of Egypt with On The Go.
The tour guides were well informed and gave us excellent information about the history and architecture of the many sites. Also the guides were also very aware of the needs of all group members, and made every effort to accommodate all of our needs and requests.

Accommodation and food all good. The felucca trip was well organised, interesting and very relaxing, made so much more comfortable by having the motor boat with us for toilet and meals, etc

Alam, our guide, talked to us about the political and economic situation. Our tour finished the day before the demonstrations commenced. We managed to complete all parts of the tour, including the Egyptian Museum. We were kept informed of the political position at all times, but never felt in any danger.

Our group consisted of 18 from ages 15 to 67. There was a wonderful rapport between all members of the group and our guide Alam. Lots of fun and laughter.

Yes I certainly will look at more On the Go Tours in future.

   King Tutankhamen - 9 days

To whom it may concern,
I would like to thank the staff of On the Go Tours for making our holiday truly memorable.

From the moment we stepped off the plane in Cairo and were met by the On the Go representative, I knew it was going to be a good experience.
Once we collected our bags we were met the rep passed us onto Bolous ( who was lovely) who accompanied us to our hotel. He talked to us the whole way explaining things along the way and advising that we could do other options. We got to the hotel and Bolous assisted with getting checked in and gave us information on what was around the area.
The following day we took a day trip to Alexandria with Hashem.
We started the tour on the the 8 June and I was excited. Hashem was able to explain so much and I could see he was very knowledgeable and very interested in sharing his knowledge. He too was a wonderful person). That night we arrived at the train station to take the sleeper train. As there were too many of us, Arhmen 1 took part of the group, and Arhme 2 (another local rep in Cairo) and another gentleman waited with us and for our train to arrive. Though we didn't have a guide with us, arrangements were made with the porter on our sleeper cabin with contact details and phones numbers were given to us just in case.
Unfortunately our train travel was delayed due to a protest, and our train had stopped at Luxor train station. We had spoken to Arhmen 1 who was on the other train and he made arrangements for the Local rep in Luxor to come check on us and stay at the station with us until our train departed.
Which was great, as it put our minds at ease knowing that someone was there to take care of us.
Though we had lost the day in Aswan, Hashem told us all that we wouldn't miss anything, and he was right. He made every effort to ensure we saw the markets that afternoon, followed by the evening at the Nabu island where we had a wonderful dinner and met Bassam (who was going to take the people on the Nile Cruise).
The following morning some of us did the trip to Abu Simbel, and then we met up with the rest of the group (who in the interim were looked after by Bassam). We also did the Philae Temple & the Dam that afternoon. It was a bit rushed, but I was so happy that we didn't miss a thing.
The next few days on the Nile cruise Bassam looked after us. I have to admit I was totally astounded by his knowledge too and what a wonderful person he is.
In Luxor, Hashem took us for the day and night and then Bassam took us by sleeper train back to Cairo.
We spend another day in Cairo and were met at the train station by Bolous, Arhmen and another gentleman that ensured our luggage was taken care of and that we got on the bus with Bussam.

I have travelled all over the world, but I have never been on such a well organised tour and been on a tour where there was a great support team on the ground at every location. Not to mention that every support staff as well as tour guides were not only professional, knowledgeable, approachable, but they were happy, excited and funny.
On the Go was recommended to me by a work colleague who travelled to Egypt last year, and I am so happy that we made the decision to tour Egypt with your company. That I too have recommended your company to friends and family. I also have to take this opportunity on how safe we felt whilst travelling through Egypt.
My husband and I were on our honeymoon and it was the best vacation I have ever taken. And I can't thank you enough for have a GREAT team.
We will be back one day and I look forward to taking another On the Go Tour.
Thank you and keep up the good work.

Hi Trace,

Everything went off pretty much perfectly. On The Go was such a great choice. They were on the ball, completely professional and really experts in travelling through Egypt, Jordan and Israel.

The guides, particularly our Egypt guide, were incredible. But I think the best bit was that they met us at the airport in Cairo inside the immigration area (even though it was 2.30am) and filled out all our paperwork, took us through immigration & got our bags for us and were at our hotel within an hour getting ready to have a few hours sleep.

The same process in Jordan, going through the border crossing into Israel - collected our passports & did the visa & exit tax stuff for us. It really made that aspect of the trip especially stress free.

I felt completely safe there the whole time. Egypt is really struggling at the moment and we were the only tourists in a lot of places which was incredibly sad - as their economy relies so much on us. Cairo was pretty wild - it's a bit dirty, but that's expected & all part of the 'opening of your eyes' part of the adventure, really. Jordan was very, very friendly. Everyone was excited to see us & made us welcome. Israel was very western - and Tel Aviv in particular just feels like the Gold Coast! The hotel you picked us out there was excellent - very clean and free Wifi into the rooms which was really great.
I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this part of the world to anyone who asks - and would not hesitate to recommend On The Go specifically.
Thanks again for all your help - Michael and I both came away with the consensus that this was truly the trip of a lifetime. Something we will never, ever forget.

Pyramids, Petra, Promised Land - 18 days

Hi Trevor,

We just want to thank you for all that you did in terms of sorting out this holiday for us. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone that wants to experience Egypt.
A special thank you needs to go out to our Tour Guide, Haytham Youssry. Our tour would not have been the same without him.
He is the most friendly, professional person with such a passion for his position and industry. You could not help but get excited and drawn in by his amazing personality and passion for the ancient history of Egypt.
We just want to say thank you
It was amazing.

So thank you, thank you, thank you!

   King Tutankhamen - 9 days

Hi On the Go,

I just returned from the Pharaoh's Adventure tour (June 4-9) and had a fabulous time! On the Go really went above and beyond and exceeded all my expectations. Our tour guide, Haytham Youssry was excellent. Extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, professional, and accommodating. It was the little things that Haytham did that made us feel like valued customers - he purchased us water, ice-cream, and papyrus bookmarks, taught us the tricks on how to avoid the hustlers, and supported us in bargaining with the shop assistants. In addition, the ground support for the tour made everything for us so easy. We were taken to and greeted by an On the Go rep at the train station who also ensured our luggage was secured and taken to our bus, and we were guided through the airport and check in process with no hassle at all.

Thanks On the Go!
