Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Egypt Barbara and Earle and the start of your holiday! Arrive Cairo, included transfer to hotel and overnight.

Day 2: Cairo

Welcome to Egypt Jennifer and Dennis and the start of your holiday! Arrive Cairo, included transfer to hotel (please note that check-in is generally after 2pm). The remainder of the day is free to relax and meet up with Barbara and Earle.

Day 3: Cairo

Today we tour the Pyramids at Giza Plateau. Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. Constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks, it is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. The other two - Chephren and Mycerinus are equally impressive. Afterward we tour the tomb-strewn necropolis of Saqqara, featuring King Zhoser’s step pyramid.

Day 4: Cairo

This morning we venture to old Islamic Cairo and the Egyptian Museum, home to the most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities in the world. We continue on and visit the citadel.

Day 5: Cairo - Aswan

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival you will visit High Dam and Philae temple. Philae temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was rescued in an enormous UNESCO effort in the 1970s. Due to high water levels in the resevoir created by the Old Aswan Dam and further aquatic drama due to the creation of the mighty High Dam, Philae temple was relocated stone by stone on higher ground on nearby Agilika Island.

Day 6: Aswan - Nile Cruising

A short flight down south to explore the temples of Abu Simbel , created to revere the mighty pharaonic ruler King Ramses II. Return flight to Aswan and some free time before boarding your Nile cruiser for your three night cruise up the River Nile.

Day 7: Nile Cruising

This morning we sail and a stop will be made at the waterside Temple of Kom Ombo. Later we sail onto Edfu Temple; dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus, was one of the last monumental temples built on a large scale.

Day 8: Nile Cruising

Today we sail to Luxor an visit Karnak and Luxor temples on the East bank.

Day 9: Nile Cruising - Luxor

Today we disembark and visit the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut temple and Colossi of Memnon on the west bank. Later you will be transferred to your hotel for the evening.

Day 10: Luxor - Cairo

Today you will be transferred to the aiport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel and the remainder of the day is free to relax or explore independantly.

Day 11: Cairo

Today we farewell Barbara and Earle as they are transferred to the airport and the day remains free for Jennifer and Dennis.

Jennifer and Dennis, today is your last day in Egypt with your departure airport transfer.
