Today we tour the Pyramids at Giza Plateau. Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. Afterward we tour the tomb-strewn necropolis of Saqqara, featuring King Zhoser’s step pyramid. Constructed by Imhotep, the pharaoh’s chief architect in 2700 BC, this was the template for all future pyramid construction.
This morning we venture to old Islamic Cairo and the Egyptian Museum, home to the most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities in the world. your flight to Luxor. Arriving here you will check into your Nile Cruise. This evening you will visit the Luxor Temple which is softly illuminated at night time.
This morning the massive pair of statues known as the Colossi of Memnon is the first monuments we will see as we arrive on the West Bank for our exploration. We then proceed to visit the Valleys of the Kings and Queens and the imposing colonnaded temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Later, a visit to Karnak which is a spectacular myriad of sanctuaries, pylons, chapels, halls and obelisks.
