Welcome to Egypt's capital and Africa's largest city: Cairo. Upon arrival you will be met and guided through passport control and baggage collection. After essential airport formalities you will be transferred directly to your hotel for your time in Cairo. Upon reaching the hotel we will assist with your check-in and then the evening is yours to relax and freshen up.
We head out today to visit the famous pyramids and lion headed Sphinx at Giza Plateau. Sole survivors from the ancient Greek listed Seven Wonders of the World, the pyramids are the planets oldest tourist attraction! Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. Constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks it is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. Continuing to Saqqara, we can explore the myriad tombs and temples at this site.
Our day starts with a guided visit to the famous Egyptian Museum with free time to browse and explore - famed for the treasures of King Tutankhamen and his famous solid gold funerary mask. Later we will visit The Citadel in old Islamic Cairo and the Khan El Khalili markets, where you will learn a thing or two about haggling from the friendly local vendors while gift shopping for family and friends back home.
This morning we fly to the not to be missed Temple of Abu Simbel - its an early flight! Abu Simbel is one of the greatest Egyptian monuments ever built. The entire temple was moved from the banks of Nile when Lake Nasser was formed. You will enjoy an in-depth tour of the site and free time to explore before this evenings sound & light show.
Today you return for the not to be missed sunrise over the Temple of Abu Simbel, We return to Aswan later this afternoon where we have arranged for you a flight to Luxor
An early start! There is the option to float over Luxor in a hot air balloon and see area wake up and come alive. Afterwards, we cross to the West Bank, where we’ll see the massive twin seated statues known as the Colossi of Memnon. We’ll then explore the Valleys of the Kings and Queens and the awesome ramped and colonnaded Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
Today we enjoy our visit to the east bank of the Nile to visit Karnak. Karnak is a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, built on a grand scale. During the height of Theban power, Karnak was the most important place of worship. Later we head to the airport for the short flight to Sharm El Sheikh.
Open your eyes this morning and take a peek out the window to the magical blue of the Red Sea. Sit back and relax by the pool sipping cocktails and soaking up the sun. Here you can opt to go snorkelling or diving, to view the amazing array of aquatic life in the nearby reefs for your remaining days in Egypt under the desert sun.
Today enjoy your excursion to Mt Sinai. It is camel ride to the top where you can enjoy spectacular views over the Sinai's rugged terrain, at the place where Moses is said to have received the 10 commandments. We then walk down to St Catherine's monastery where you will enjoy a guided explanation of the sight and free time before we drive back to Sharm El Sheikh.
Today we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight back to Cairo where you connect to your international flight.
