Welcome to Cairo and the start of your journey through the Land of the Pharaohs! Arriving into Cairo at 06:30 AM our team are on hand to transfer you to your hotel. After a good rest, we head out to visit Pyramids of Giza, Saqqara - Zhosers Step Pyramid and the Egyptian Museum.
This morning fly to Abu Simbel, possibly the most awe-inspiring temple of all ancient Egypt, built to revere the mighty King Ramses II. We have plenty of time to explore on a guided tour before flying onto Aswan where we embark our cruise ship for lunch. This afternoon we visit the Philae Temple and Aswan High Dam. This afternoon we enjoy felucca sailing to visit nearby islands where some fascinating relics can be seen.
Relax and take in the riverside village views perched on the top deck! A stop will be made at the waterside Temple of Kom Ombo.
Having the distinction of being the largest and most completely preserved pharaonic, albeit Greek-built, temple in Egypt, the Temple of Horus at Edfu, dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus, was one of the last monumental temples built on a large scale. An early morning stop is made to view the temple and onward sailing to Luxor. Evening viewing of the Luxor temple.
Today we disembark at Luxor and transfer to your hotel. We then, explore the best of Ancient Thebes; Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Temple of Hatshepsut and later Karnak temple. Karnak is a spectacular myriad of sanctuaries, pylons, chapels, halls and obelisks, all dedicated to the Theban gods and to the greater glory of Egypt’s Middle and New Kingdom rulers.
Enjoy a relaxing morning. We then fly to Cairo where on arrival, our guide will take you out to enjoy an in-depth tour of Old Cairo, visit the old Coptic suspended Church and city of the dead, the oldest Synagogue of Ben Ezra, drive to the Citadel of Saladin, and visit the alabaster mosque of Mohammed Ali and more.
This morning we drive you to Alexandria. Today will be spent the treasures of the city, including Catacombs at Kom El Shoukafa and nearby Roman Ruins, Alexandria Library, Pompey's pillar, Fort Qaitbay.
This morning we head along the gorgeous Mediterranean coastline to Siwa Oasis. Along the way we stop for a lunch in Marsa Matrouh and allow time here to explore the famous LIbyan Markets.
This morning we explore the Temple of the Oracle, dating back to near 570BC. We then continue to Cleopatra Spring and explore the Mountain of the Dead and explore Old Shali. Old Shali is the old city abandoned in 1926 after 3 days of rain that literally melted the mud brick city. Afternoon - Desert Safari. 4x4 through the massive sand dunes of the Great Sand Sea, stopping off at an amazing natural spring fed lake surrounded by miles of sandy desert. We also visit the site of an ancient ocean abundant with marine fossils and finish the day at the hot spring of Bir Wahed for swimming and sunset dinner.
This morning after a relaxing breakfast we hit the road and drive back to Cairo. Arriving here, evening is free for you to explore or go shopping in the markets that burst into to life at night time.
Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
