Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Egypt and the start of your holiday! Arrive Cairo airport and our local team are on hand to transfer you to your hotel. This evening we have arranged a visit to the Khan El Khalili Markets.

Day 2: Cairo - Aswan

Today we tour the Pyramids at Giza Plateau. Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. Constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks, it is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. The other two - Chephren and Mycerinus are equally impressive. Afterward we head out to visit the famous Egyptian Museum, here you can enjoy a guided tour and free time to browse and explore the famed treasures of King Tutankhamen.

Day 3: Aswan - Nile Cruising

Arrive Aswan and our team are on hand to assist with check into your Nile Cruise for lunch. This afternoon we visit the Philae Temple and Aswan High Dam. Philae temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was rescued in an enormous UNESCO effort in the 1970s. Due to high water levels in the reservoir created by the Old Aswan Dam and further aquatic drama due to the creation of the mighty High Dam, Philae temple was relocated stone by stone on higher ground on nearby Agilika Island.

Day 4: Nile Cruising

Relax and take in the riverside village views perched on the top deck! A stop will be made at the waterside Temple of Kom Ombo.

Day 5: Nile Cruising

Having the distinction of being the largest and most completely preserved pharaonic, albeit Greek-built, temple in Egypt, the Temple of Horus at Edfu, dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus, was one of the last monumental temples built on a large scale. An early morning stop is made to view the temple and onward sailing to Luxor. Afternoon visit to the Karnak Temple complex and eening viewing of the Luxor temple.

Day 6: Nile Cruising - Bahariyya Oasis

Today we disembark at Luxor and explore the best of Ancient Thebes; Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Temple of Hatshepsut. We then fly to Cairo and arriving here we have a 4 hour road trip to Bahariyya Oasis.

Day 7: Bahariyya Oasis - White Desert

This morning we check out Bahariyya - an ancient oasis dating back to the Middle Kingdom with visits to two local tombs and the famed Museum of the Goldern Mummies. Continuing by 4 x 4, we explore crystal mountain and the Black Desert, a region full of black volcano-shaped mountains, covered in a layer of star shaped pebbles. Our desert camp tonight is in the White Desert.

Day 8: White Desert

Enjoy breakfast and sunrise in your remote desert camp, we then return to Cairo (8 hrs drive) and you can freshen up at a hotel before heading to the airport for your flight home (late departure flight required).
