Welcome to Egypt and the start of your citystay! Arrive Cairo, included transfer to the 5 star Le Meridien Pyramids Hotel and overnight.
Today, enjoy a guided visit to the famous pyramids and lion-headed Sphinx at Giza Plateau. Later we embark upon a guided tour of the famous Egyptian National Museum of Antiquities.
This morning we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival we will pick you up and take you on a take of the Philae Temple and Aswan High Dam. Philae temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was rescued in an enormous UNESCO effort in the 1970s. Due to high water levels in the resevoir created by the Old Aswan Dam and further aquatic drama due to the creation of the mighty High Dam, Philae temple was relocated stone by stone on higher ground on nearby Agilika Island.
Relax and take in the riverside village views going on the top deck! A stop will be made at the waterside Temple of Kom Ombo. Continue onto sail to Edfu. Having the distinction of being the largest and most completely preserved pharaonic, albeit Greek-built, temple in Egypt, the Temple of Horus at Edfu, dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus, was one of the last monumental temples built on a large scale. This evening we sail onto Luxor.
This morning is free and after lunch we will visit Karnak temple. Karnak is a spectacular myriad of sanctuaries, pylons, chapels, halls and obelisks, all dedicated to the Theban gods and to the greater glory of Egypt’s Middle and New Kingdom rulers. We also visit Luxor Temple today.
Disembarking at Luxor and explore the best of Ancient Thebes; Valley of the Kings and Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. We will then transfer you to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival we will transfer you to your hotel for the evening.
