Welcome to the start of your Egyptian Adventure! Arrive Cairo airport, and meet our local team who will transfer you to your hotel.
This morning we visit the great pyramids and Sphinx at Giza Plateau. Sole survivors of the ancient Greek-listed seven wonders of the world, they were constructed from over 2.5million limestone blocks, taking more than 20 years to build. We explore this area on foot and then on camel back! Off we ride into the sands, our sturdy ships of the desert beneath us.
Today we see the treasures of King Tutankhamen, mummies and more at the Egyptian Museum. In the afternoon we explore the Citadel and the bustling Khan el-Khalili bazaar before taking the comfortable overnight sleeper train to Aswan including dinner.
(Arrival and transfer to your hotel for DAY USE ROOM) Explore the Nubian city of Aswan with a guided walk of the local market and souq. Stunningly situated right on the Nile, a walk along the river corniche to view the many boats is a real treat, as is Aswan bazaar. Later we enjoy sailing on a felucca to visit nearby islands and learn about life on the Nile and see the magic sunset. Just after midnight we travel due south toward the Temples of Abu Simbel. Our bus journey will take approximately 3.5 hours, arriving well before sunrise. Overnight - Aswan/Bus to Abu Simbel.
As dawn breaks the magic will unfold and here we’ll witness the spectacular Sun Festival of King Ramses II. After the grand finale, we’ll explore the site in depth with a fully guided tour of the Sun Temple of King Ramses II and also the Temple of Hathor. You'll have time to independently explore and take plenty of pictures, before returning to Aswan. This afternoon we embark your Nile cruiser destined for Luxor.
Relax, go for a swim or just chill out in the sun on deck. Let your troubles melt away, as the cruiser plies its route. A stop will be made today for you to visit the waterside Temple of Kom Ombo.
Having the distinction of being the largest and most completely preserved pharaonic, albeit Greek-built, temple in Egypt, the Temple of Horus at Edfu, dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus, was one of the last monumental temples built on a large scale. An early morning stop is made to view the temple and onward sailing to Luxor. Evening viewing of the Luxor temple.
Today we disembark at Luxor and explore the best of Ancient Thebes; Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Temple of Hatshepsut and later Karnak temple. Karnak is a spectacular myriad of sanctuaries, pylons, chapels, halls and obelisks, all dedicated to the Theban gods and to the greater glory of Egypt’s Middle and New Kingdom rulers. This evening we fly back to Cairo.
Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
