Welcome to Egypt and the start of your adventure with On the Go Tours. We'll be waiting for you at Cairo international airport to greet you and transfer you to your hotel where the remainder of the day can be spent at leisure.
Today we will take you to visit the famous pyramids and lion-headed Sphinx at Giza Plateau. Sole survivors from the ancient Greek-listed Seven Wonders of the World, the pyramids are the planet’s oldest tourist attraction! Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. Constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks it is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. Our touring continues with Saqqara - an ancient necropolis with many half-buried tombs and the famous Zhoser's step pyramid - and the treasures of the Egyptian Museum.
Today we'll transfer you to the airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival our local rep will then collect you and take you to your hotel.
The next two days are at leisure.
This morning we transfer you from your hotel to the embarkation point for your 7 night Nile cruise. Enjoy guided sightseeing of Luxor's West Bank taking in the famed sights of the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens and the impressive Hatshepsut temple. Lunch will be served onboard with the remainder of the afternoon free to sample the cruise ship's facilities.
Relax on the sun deck and enjoy the spectacular views and great facilities and service on board as the cruiser plies its course towards Edfu.
After breakfast visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, which has the distinction of being the largest and most completely preserved pharaonic, albeit Greek-built, temple in Egypt. The boat continues to Kom Ombo and after lunch on board you will disembark for a visit to The Temple of Kom Ombo which is dedicated to two gods, Sobek the crocodile God and Haroeris the Sun God. The boat then continues its route to Aswan.
Welcome to Egypt's Nubian city Aswan. Today, a visit out of town takes us to the mighty High Dam. A modern feat of engineering, the by product for which is Lake Nasser, the world’s largest artificial lake. We continue to visit the unfinished obelisk and after a short boat trip the Philae temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. This afternoon enjoy felucca sailing on the Nile, with visits to the Botanical gardens and Elephantine Island.
Today's a leisurely day of cruising as the boat retraces its route back to Kom Ombo.
Continue sailing on to Edfu and Esna to cross the Esna Lock.
Returning back to Luxor today enjoy a visit to the temples of Luxor and Karnak. In the heart of Luxor, the Temple of Luxor is a large temple dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut and Khonsu. The Temple of Karnak - a spectacular open-air complex of sanctuaries, pylons, chapels, halls and obelisks, all dedicated to the Theban gods and to the greater glory of Egypt’s Middle and New Kingdom rulers is number two on the visitor ‘hit list’ after the pyramids and Sphinx at Giza.
Disembarking from your Nile cruise today around lunchtime, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight back to Cairo where our services end.
