Welcome to Egypt and the start of your holiday. We will be there to meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel right by the pyramids!
Today your guide will take you to visit the famous pyramids and lion-headed Sphinx at Giza Plateau which are the sole survivors from the ancient Greek-listed Seven Wonders of the World. After some time for lunch we continue to Saqqara where you can visit Zhoser's step Pyramid. This evening at your leisure.
This morning we fly to Abu Simbel, possibly the most awe-inspiring temple of all ancient Egypt, built to revere the mighty King Ramses II. Here we board our 5 star cruiser. Enjoy a spectacular sound and light show at Abu Simbel before dinner by candle light on board.
A modern feat of engineering, the High Dam contains 18 times the amount of material used in the construction of Cheops, the largest pyramid at Giza. The by-product for this awesome construction is Lake Nasser – the world’s largest artificial lake. This afternoon we set sail on Lake Nasser, to view Kasr Ibrim. This tour is conducted from the ship’s sundeck as entrance to the site is not permitted. Relax and enjoy the facilities onboard the cruiser.
Now for those hidden gems! Discover the Temple of Amada (Lake Nasser’s oldest monument) and Derr, dedicated by Ramses II. We’ll stop at the Tomb of Penout (Viceroy of Nubia), Wadi El Seboua, the Temple of Dakka and the Temple of Meharakka.
Sip cocktails as we cross the Tropic of Cancer, bound for the Nubian city of Aswan, visiting Kalabsha Temple, Beit El Wali and the Kiosk of Kertassi en-route.
Welcome to Aswan! After breakfast we disembark and check into your Dahabiya. Enjoy a visit to Philae Temple and the High dam then our first day’s sailing takes you to a small Nile island for a walk in the countryside. After lunch on board or on the island, continue sailing towards Kom Ombo to visit the double temple of Sobek and Haroeris. Then cruise towards Gebel el-Silsila. First night on board.
After breakfast visit the rock-cut chapels of Horemheb, Seti I, Ramses II and Merenptah and explore the sandstone quarries at Gebel el-Silsila. The sail continues to Edfu where you can visit the temple of Horus, the best-preserved of all the temples in Egypt. Travel on to a small island where the boat will moor for the night. Dinner will be served on board the Dahabiya or round a campfire on the tranquil banks of the Nile. Second night on board.
Cruise to El Kab, the ancient town of Nekheb, one of the oldest and most significant archaeological sites on the Nile. Visit the remains of its temples and some of the tombs cut into the cliffs. Return to the boat and set sail for Esna. Third and last night on board.
End of the Dahabiya journey in Esna. After breakfast on board transfer to Luxor and check into your hotel. Today we visit the magnificent Temple of Karnak. More than a temple, it’s a gigantic and stunning complex of sanctuaries and pylons dedicated to the Theban gods. This evening we visit the beautifully illuminated Luxor temple where you can enjoy a guided explanation of the site and some free time to explore.
This morning rise early for your hot air balloon ride. This is followed by a visit to the Colossi of Memnon which are the first monuments we will see as we arrive on the West Bank for our sightseeing. We then proceed to visit the Valleys of the Kings and Queens and the imposing colonnaded temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Afternoon/evening at your leisure.
This morning we drive around five hours to the Red Sea resort of Hurghgada. Arrival and check into your hotel.
Enjoy your time in the Hurghada soaking up the sun, dipping in the warm waters of the Red Sea you can opt to go snorkelling or diving or just lay back on your sunlounger on the hotels private beach sipping cocktails.
Afternoon return flight to Cairo. Arrival transfer to your down town hotel.
After breakfast we head out to visit the famous Egyptian Museum, here you can enjoy a guided tour and free time to browse and explore the famed treasures of King Tutankhamen. We then enjoy an in-depth tour of Old Cairo, visit the old Coptic suspended Church and city of the dead, the oldest Synagogue of Ben Ezra, drive to the Citadel of Saladin, and visit the alabaster mosque of Mohammed Ali and more.
