Pyramid at Giza

Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Egypt, arrival and transfer to hotel. Spend the remains of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Cairo

This morning visit the three great pyramids and Sphinx at the Giza Plateau. Explore this area on foot and then on camel back! In front of the pyramids sits the immense Sphinx. Located just a stone's throw from Giza, is tomb-strewn Saqqara. Partially covered tombs, drifting sands and pyramids dotted across the horizon give way to the centre piece - that of King Zhoser's step pyramid.

Day 3: Cairo

Today is a a free day for you to relax.

Day 4: Cairo - Luxor

This morning take a flight departing 08:25 to the ancient city of Luxor arriving 09:35. Sightseeing begins with a visit to Karnak Temple, followed by Luxor’s West Bank and the atmospheric Valley of the Kings. Also visit the Valley of the Queens and the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, passing the imposing Colossi of Memnon en route.

Day 5: Luxor

This morning we rise early at dawn to take a hot air balloon flight over Luxor before starting your days touring. Its a treat this morning as we will take you sightseeing to the rarely visited Temples of Dendera. This evening we will visit Luxor Temple by night.

Day 6: Luxor - Dahabeya cruise

Today you will be transferred to Esna and board the El Nile Dahabeya, your home for the next five nights. (Please note that the Dahabeya itinerary may change closer to the date subject to weather conditions and the Captains discretion). Meet your Captain, the crew and your fellow travellers for a welcome drink. Later there may be time to take a tour of the Temple of Khnum.

Day 7: Dahabeya cruise

Upon docking, you will embark on a beautiful walk through a small fishermen village, across the railroad tracks to visit the necropolis. After the tour, you will return to the boat for lunch. In the afternoon, the boat will arrive at Edfu, home to the very famous temple dedicated to the God Horus. After returning to the boat, you will set sail for the banks of an island to spend the night.

Day 8: Dahabeya cruise

After breakfast, you will begin sailing for the day. In the afternoon, you will stop at an island to take a swim in the Nile. At night, the boat arrives at the foot of floodlit temple of Djebel Silsileh.

Day 9: Dahabeya cruise

Here, the Nile, flowing between two mountains ranges, is at its narrowest. You will be the only ones on the site, as the large Nile cruisers can only pass in the distance. After the rest, you will continue on to a picturesque pasture where you will stop for lunch and swimming.

Day 10: Dahabeya cruise

After a night on the water under the stars, the morning trip will take you to the town and temple of Kom Ombo. After the temple visit, the boat will sail to a beautiful beach where you can once again swim. Finally, you will dock just past the Aswan bridge where you will rest under the stars.

Day 11: Dahabeya cruise - Aswan

Today we disembark the Dahabeya and you will be transferred to your hotel and have free time for the remainder of the day.

Day 12: Aswan - Cairo

Today you will be transferred for a early morning flight to visit the spectacular temples of Abu Simbel arriving and have a guided tour of the area before flying back to Aswan to catch your onward flght to Cairo. Upon arrival into Cairo we will transfer you to your hotel for the evening.

Day 13: Cairo

See the treasures of King Tutankhamen, mummies and more at the Egyptian Museum this morning. Arguably the most famous exhibit is the stunning solid gold funerary mask of the boy-King Tutankhamen. Continue your touring, visiting the Citadel, built by Salah-El-Din in the 12th century and the bustling Khan el-Khalili bazaar in the afternoon, where you can pick up some souvenirs.

Day 14: Cairo

Today is sadly your last day with us with your onward departure transfer.
