Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Egypt and the start of your holiday! Arriving into Cairo airport our local team are on hand to transfer you to your hotel. This afternoon we tour the Pyramids at Giza Plateau and the iconic Sphinx. Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. The other two - Chephren and Mycerinus are equally impressive. Afterward we tour the tomb-strewn necropolis of Saqqara, featuring King Zhoser’s step pyramid. Constructed by Imhotep, the pharaoh’s chief architect in 2700 BC, this was the template for all future pyramid construction.
