Karnak is a spectacular myriad of sanctuaries, pylons, chapels, halls and obelisks, all dedicated to the Theban gods and to the greater glory of Egypt’s Middle and New Kingdom rulers. In the evening we will enjoy viewing of the Luxor temple.
This morning we explore the best of Ancient Thebes; Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Temple of Hatshepsut. Sit back and enjoy sailing to Edfu for the rest of the day.
This morning a visit to Edfu Temple. Having the distinction of being the largest and most completely preserved pharaonic, albeit Greek-built, temple in Egypt, the Temple of Horus at Edfu, dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus, was one of the last monumental temples built on a large scale. Relax and take in the riverside village views perched on the top deck as you sail to Aswan! A stop will be made at the waterside Temple of Kom Ombo.
This morning we visit the Philae Temple and Aswan High Dam. Philae temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was rescued in an enormous UNESCO effort in the 1970s. Due to high water levels in the reservoir created by the Old Aswan Dam and further aquatic drama due to the creation of the mighty High Dam, Philae temple was relocated stone by stone on higher ground on nearby Agilika Island. In the afternoon we will have a sailing trip on the Nile visiting nearby islands on a tradtional felucca boat.
Disembarking the cruise this morning we head to the airport for your flight to Hurghada (Via Cairo) Arriving at your Red Sea destination our local team are on hand to transfer you to your hotel.
Enjoy today and tomorrow in Hurghada soaking up the sun, dipping in the warm waters of the Red Sea you can opt to go snorkelling or diving or just lay back on your sun lounger on the hotels private beach sipping cocktails.
This morning we fly to Cairo and after check in, we tour the Pyramids at Giza Plateau. Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. Constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks, it is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. The other two - Chephren and Mycerinus are equally impressive.
Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to Cairo airport in time for your flight home.
