Pyramid at Giza

Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Egypt and the start of your holiday! Upon arrival into Cairo you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2: Cairo

Today we tour the Pyramids at Giza Plateau. Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. Constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks, it is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. The other two - Chephren and Mycerinus are equally impressive. Afterward we tour the tomb-strewn necropolis of Saqqara, featuring King Zhoser’s step pyramid. Constructed by Imhotep, the pharaoh’s chief architect in 2700 BC, this was the template for all future pyramid construction.

Day 3: Cairo - Aswan

After breakfast we head out to visit the famous Egyptian Museum, here you can enjoy a guided tour and free time to browse and explore the famed treasures of King Tutankhamen. We then enjoy an in-depth tour of Old Cairo, visit the old Coptic suspended Church and city of the dead, the oldest Synagogue of Ben Ezra, drive to the Citadel of Saladin, and visit the alabaster mosque of Mohammed Ali and more. Tonight we travel on the overnight sleeper train to Aswan.

Day 4: Aswan

Welcome to Aswan when you arrive at the station we will be there to meet you and transfer you to your hotel. After a short rest we will take you sightseeing to the Aswan high dam, unfinished obelisk and the Temple of Philae. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 5: Aswan - Luxor

With a very start to the morning (around 4am) we drive out to Abu Simbel, possibly the most awe-inspiring temple of all ancient Egypt. Over the centuries the temple was all but lost to humanity due to shifting desert sands, however it was rediscovered by chance in 1813 by a Swiss explorer and eventually in the early 60's an excavation team restored it and once again the full glory of the temple of Abu Simbel was revealed to the modern world. Arrive back into Aswan with free time for lunch before continuing on to Luxor.

Valley of the Kings

Day 6: Luxor

After breakfast we visit the magnificent Temple of Karnak. More than a temple, it’s a gigantic and stunning complex of sanctuaries and pylons dedicated to the Theban gods. Afternoon enjoy some free time to relax. This evening we visit the beautifully illuminated Luxor temple where you can enjoy a guided explanation of the site and some free time to explore.

Day 7: Luxor - Hurghada

Today we explore the best of Ancient Thebes; Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Temple of Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon. You will have some time for a late lunch before your five hour road transfer to Hurghada. Arrival and check into your lovely beach resort. Tonight enjoy a Christmas Gala Dinner at the hotel.

Day 8: Hurghada

Enjoy your time in the Hurghada soaking up the sun, dipping in the warm waters of the Red Sea you can opt to go snorkelling or diving or just lay back on your sun lounger on the hotels private beach sipping cocktails.

Day 9: Hurghada

Today is at your leisure.

Sadly your tour comes to an end today, your tour ends after breakfast and hotel check out.
