Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Cairo. We will be there to meet you at Cairo airport and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day to spend at leisure

Day 2: Cairo

Today visit Giza Plateau and explore the pyramids and Sphinx. It is estimated Cheops (the largest of the pyramids) was constructed from no less than 2.5million quarried limestone blocks, weighing around 6 million tonnes. Later we explore Saqqara - an ancient necropolis with many half-buried tombs and the famous Zhoser's step pyramid.

Day 3: Cairo - Bahariyya Oasis

This morning enjoy a guided tour of the Egyptian Museum before driving to Bahariyya, where you can watch a beautiful sunset over the rugged desertscape.

Day 4: Bahariyya Oasis - White Desert

Visit the Temple of Alexander the Great, Tombs of the Nobles and the Black Desert en route to the striking White Desert, which is your remote overnight base.

Day 5: White Desert - Dakhla Oasis

Today we travel to Dakhla, stopping en route to visit Farafra - the smallest oasis in the Western Desert, the medieval city of Al Qasr and Deir al-Haggar Roman Temple. You can also opt for a dip in the hot springs.

Day 6: Dakhla Oasis - Kharga Oasis

This morning journey to Kharga Oasis to see the Temple of Hibis and the rambling 4th century mud-brick necropolis of el-Bagawat before travelling to Luxor.

Valley of the Kings, Luxor

Day 7: Kharga Oasis - Nile Cruising

Today take a tour of Luxor 's West Bank visiting the legendary Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. The Valley of the Kings is studded with often highly decorated tombs, constructed to once house the regal sarcophagi enclosed mummies of the mighty pharaohs, awaiting their passage into the after-life. Return to Luxor and check in onboard a deluxe Nile Cruiser before visiting the beautifully illuminated Luxor Temple at night.

Day 8: Nile Cruising

This morning we explore the Graeco Roman Temple of Khnum at Esna, before sailing onto Edfu. The Temple of Horus at Edfu is the most completely preserved Egyptian Temple and dominates this West Bank town. Later this afternoon we set sail for Kom Ombo for our overnight.

Day 9: Nile Cruising

Relax on the sun deck and enjoy the spectacular views and great facilities and service on board as the cruiser plies its course. Today you will disembark for a visit to The Temple of Kom Ombo which is dedicated to two gods, Sobek the crocodile God and Harveris the Sun God.

Day 10: Nile Cruising

Welcome to Aswan, it's time to explore the mighty Aswan High Dam and travel by boat to the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Remainder of day and evening free

Day 11: Nile Cruising - Cairo

Enjoy a day at leisure in Aswan or take an optional air excursion to the colossal temple of Abu Simbel. See the Enhance your Holiday page for details. Late afternoon board an overnight sleeper train back to Cairo.

Day 12: Cairo

Morning arrival into Cairo and onward transfer to the airport. Tour arrangements end. PLease note your departure flight must be after 1pm.
