Welcome to Egypt's capital and Africa's largest city: Cairo. Upon arrival you will be met and guided through passport control and baggage collection. After essential airport formalities you will be transferred directly to your hotel for your time in Cairo. Upon reaching the hotel we will assist with your check-in and then the evening is yours to relax and freshen up.
Today we head out to visit the famous pyramids and lion-headed Sphinx at Giza Plateau and the Myriad of tombs at Saqqara. Sole survivors from the ancient Greek-listed Seven Wonders of the World, the pyramids are the planet’s oldest tourist attraction! We move on later to visit the Egyptian Museum famed for the treasures of King Tutankhamen and his famous solid gold funerary mask. Later we then enjoy the ancient Khan El Khalili markets, where you will learn a thing or two about haggling from the friendly local vendors.
This morning we are off to the not to be missed Temple of Abu Simbel - its an early flight! Abu Simbel is one of the greatest Egyptian monuments ever built. The entire temple was moved from the banks of Nile when Lake Nasser was formed. We fly in to Aswan around 12 noon, where we will enjoy a visit to the mighty High Dam – a modern feat of engineering, the by–product for which is Lake Nasser, the world’s largest artificial lake! After we see the Philae temple before we check-in to our 5 star Nile cruise.
The ship sets sail, you can relax on the sun deck and enjoy the spectacular views and great facilities and service on board. Today you will disembark in Kom Ombo for a visit to The Temple of Kom Ombo which is dedicated to the two gods Sobek the crocodile God and Harveris the Sun God.
Today we will stop firstly at the immaculately preserved temple of Edfu before sailing onto Luxor - Egypt's open air museum. We will have an afternoon sightseeing tour of the complex of temples at Karnak and the beautifully illuminated Luxor temple in the evening rip with photo opportunities.
An early start! There is the option to float over Luxor in a hot air balloon and see area wake up and come alive. Afterwards, we cross to the West Bank, where we’ll see the massive twin seated statues known as the Colossi of Memnon. We’ll then explore the Valleys of the Kings and Queens and the awesome ramped and colonnaded Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Today we drive to Kharga Oasis for our overnight stay 1 of your group with infant departs back to Cairo with a short flight to connect with an international flight home.
An early start roday we travel to Dakla Oasis, where we visit the Temple of Hibis, the rambling 4th century necropolis of al-Bagawat built entirely of mudbrick and the temple ruins of Deir al-Kashef.
Continuing by 4 x 4 today highlights will be Farafra oasis, where we can enjoy a dip in the natural springs. We visit the medieval covered city of Al Qasr and head out to Al-Muzawaka tombs. At Deir al-Haggar we visit a sandstone temple. Arriving in the white desert later for our overnight camp.
Today we get up close and personal a with the magical White Desert. Driving to Crystal Mountain and the Black Desert we stop to explore many natural wonders of the region, including pylite star shaped stone that scatter desertscape. Later we check out Bahariyya - an ancient oasis. Continuing by 4 x 4, we visit the Tombs of the local Nobles and the Museum of the Golden Mummies.
Today we drive from Bahariyya back to Cairo intime for your later flight home.
