Welcome to Egypt and the start of your holiday. We will be there to meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.
After breakfast we head out to visit the famous Egyptian Museum, here you can enjoy a guided tour and free time to browse and explore the famed treasures of King Tutankhamen. We then enjoy an in-depth tour of Old Cairo, visit the old Coptic suspended Church and city of the dead, the oldest Synagogue of Ben Ezra, drive to the Citadel of Saladin, and visit the alabaster mosque of Mohammed Ali and more.
This morning we head out with your guide to explore the Pyramids of Giza, Sphinx and then onto Saqqara famous for the Step Pyramid after time for lunch we visit Red and Bent Pyramids and Dashur and then finally the ancient capital Memphis and it's famous outdoor museum.
Today early we drive into the western desert some 150 KM to visit the Valley of Whales famed for the discovery of petrified primitive whales skeletons, shark teeth , shells and roots of Mangroves preserved in soft rocks. Everywhere you go here you find petrified sea shell and corals - We then continue to Egypt's largest saltwater lake called lake Qaroun for a felucca ride then continue to your hotel in Fayoum Oasis.
Enjoy an in-depth tour of Fayoum Oasis including the hot springs at Ain al-Siliyin, The ancient Bahr Yussef canal, The water wheels built by the Greek settlers, the Obelisk of Senusert and more time permitting.
Early morning we drive towards al-Minya here we cross the east bank of the Nile to Tel-Amarna, a city built by Akhenaten and Nefertiti during the New Kingdom. We visit some noble’s tombs with wall reliefs unequalled anywhere else in Egypt. We also visit the Northern Palace, one of the markers of the city limits (a huge stone with hieroglyphics), the Southern Palace and the tomb built for Akhenaten. After cross again the Nile to the West bank, proceed to Tuna el-Gebel which was the necropolis of Khmunu. On our return journey to al-Minya, visit El Ashmunein in Pharaonic times in the ancient Egyptian language means ‘town of eight’ including a lovely new open-air museum.
Today from al-Minya we visit the small village of Beni Hassan, overlooked by limestone cliffs which contain 39 tombs of the best private tombs in Egypt dating from the era of the Middle Kingdom. It is near Beni Hasan that we find another interesting site, the "Speos Artemidos," a rock cut temple for Pakhet, an aspect of the lioness goddess Sekhmet. It is here that the female pharaoh, Hatshepsut, made her declaration denouncing the Hyksos and telling of her mission to resuscitate the temples of Egypt. Proceed to Asyut. Arrive Asyut check-in our hotel and Overnight.
We check-out from our hotel after breakfast, towards Abydos. Visit the amazing temples of Ramses II. Proceed to Dendara visit beautiful Temple of Hathor before moving to Luxor. Arrive Luxor check-in our hotel.
This morning enjoy a in depth touring of Karnak Temple complex - Some relaxing time for lunch - Early evening visit to the wonderful Luxor temple.
Today enjoy in depth tour of the Temple of Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon, Valley of Kings and Valley of queens.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Nile as we drive to Aswan. First we stop in Edfu where you will discover the huge temple dedicated to the god Horus by horse carriage and then visit to Kom Ombo where you will visit the magnificent unusual double temple dedicated to the god Sobek and the god Haroeris. Arrive Aswan and check into your hotel.
After breakfast you will visit the high dam, the unfinished Obelisque and the beautiful Philae Temple. In the afternoon you will visit the beautiful Botanical Garden by Felucca boat and a stop to see Elephantine Island. This evening your guide will take you to visit the Nubian markets a famous feature of Aswan.
Morning drive to Abu Simbel for a guided tour and some free time to explore you then drive back to Aswan on arrival fly to Cairo from here we transfer you to Alexandria.
Today we will take you to visit all the highlights of this city steeped in history quite unique to Egypt. Highlights include the Catacombs at Kom El Shoukafa and nearby Roman Ruins, Pompey's Pillar, Fort Qaitbay, Alexandria National Library and Montazah Palace Gardens and more time permitting.
Today we drive North-west toward the Mediterranean coastline, to the World War II cemeteries of El Alamein. In 1942 the Allies under Britain’s field Marshal Montgomery halted the German- Italian advance towards the River Nile. Marked as a major victory for the Allies, though not without loss of life, with some 11,000 killed and 60,000 wounded. We visit the Commonwealth cemetery and recently erected memorials funded by the Australian and New Zealand governments. Through the arches and beyond the gardens, 7,000 white headstones commemorate the Australian, New Zealand and British soldiers who fought and died. We then return to your hotel.
We say a fond farewell with a transfer to the airport in time for your flight home.
