Day 1: Cairo
Today is the first day of your Egyptian adventure. We will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel. After a freshen up we will then head to the Pyramids for the light show.
Day 2: Cairo
Today a visit to the incredible pyramids and Sphinx at Giza Plateau. Maybe opt for a camel ride. Travelling on to the necropolis of Saqqara, innumerable sand strewn temples and tombs await discovery. It’s at Saqqara where you’ll see Zhoser’s step pyramid. Rising 6 steps, it served as the prototype for ancient Egypt’s most enduring architectural legacy. After this we will transfer to the world famous Egyptian museum.
Day 3: Cairo - Luxor
The massive pair of statues known as the Colossi of Memnon are the first monuments you’ll see during our morning visit to the West Bank - home to the legendary Valley of the Kings. Return to Luxor for check-in on board our Nile 5 star cruiser. Lunch at leisure and time to relax until our early evening visit to the Temple of Luxor. Luxor Temple looks stunning at dusk and is beautifully illuminated at night.
Day 4: Luxor - Nile Cruising
Later we tour the ancient city of Thebes (the East Bank), taking in the Temple of Luxor - built by Pharaoh Amenophis III and the magnificent Temple of Karnak. More than a temple, it’s a gigantic and stunning complex of sanctuaries and pylons dedicated to the Theban gods. Anchors away this afternoon as we sail downstream to Esna and the Temple of Horus at Edfu.
Day 5: Nile Cruising
Relax as we sail the Nile. Later today, we visit the Temple of Kom Ombo. Arrive Aswan late evening.
Day 6: Nile Cruising
Nile cruiser - Aswan. Today, we enjoy a short boat trip to Agilika Island for Philae Temple - dedicated to the goddess Isis. In danger of being completely submerged by the rising water of Lake Nasser, in 1972 UNESCO stepped in and an 8-year rescue effort was undertaken to relocate the entire temple. As the sun sets, free time to shop in the colourful souqs and markets or simply relax.
Day 7: Nile Cruising - Sharm el Sheikh
This morning after breakfast we will take a transfer to airport for the flight to Sharm. On arrival you will be transferred to the hotel, after check in you have the remainder of the time at your leisure.
Days 8-9: Sharm el Sheikh
Lazy days by the pool, fresh fish galore and chilled beer. Black-Jack or roulette at the Casino. Lie-ins and movies in bed. It’s all there for the taking and the choice is yours.
Day 10: Sharm el Sheikh
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport where we will wave you good bye as your board your flight for your onward travel.
