Welcome to Egypt and the start of your journey through the Land of the Pharaohs! We will be there to meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.
Today we tour the Pyramids at Giza Plateau. Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. Constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks, it is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. The other two - Chephren and Mycerinus are equally impressive. Afterward we tour the tomb-strewn necropolis of Saqqara, featuring King Zhoser’s step pyramid. Constructed by Imhotep, the pharaoh’s chief architect in 2700 BC, this was the template for all future pyramid construction.
Early this morning it is a short flight down south to explore the temples of Abu Simbel(plane stops in Aswan), created to revere the mighty pharaonic ruler King Ramses II. Guarding the entrance to the temple (built between 1290 and 1224 BC) hewn into the side of a mountain are four famous colossal statues of the pharaoh himself. Returning to Aswan by flight our team drives you to the hotel. You then will have some free time to perhaps do some shopping in the colourful souqs and markets or simply relax in this attractive town which straddles the River Nile.
After breakfast, we enjoy a short boat trip to Agilika Island for exploring the Philae Temple - dedicated to the goddess Isis. The temple dates from 4th century BC but the Ptolomies and the Romans up to 3rd century AD built most of the existing structures. This is followed with a visit to the High Dam before we drive to the city of Luxor. This evening enjoy the magical viewing of the Luxor temple, which is softly illuminated.
Today we head out and explore the best of Ancient Thebes; Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Temple of Hatshepsut and later Karnak temple. Karnak is a spectacular myriad of sanctuaries, pylons, chapels, halls and obelisks, all dedicated to the Theban gods and to the greater glory of Egypt’s Middle and New Kingdom rulers. We later head off to the airport in time for your flight to the Red Sea coastal resort of Sharm El Sheikh.
Enjoy your time in the Sharm El Sheikh soaking up the sun and dipping in the warm waters of the Red Sea. Here you can opt to go snorkelling, diving or 4x4 trips into the desert and more, alternately simply lay back on a sunlounger on the hotels beach.
Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
