Day 2: Cairo

Today we tour the Pyramids at Giza Plateau. Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. Constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks, it is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. The other two - Chephren and Mycerinus are equally impressive. Afterward we tour the tomb-strewn necropolis of Saqqara, featuring King Zhoser’s step pyramid. Constructed by Imhotep, the pharaoh’s chief architect in 2700 BC, this was the template for all future pyramid construction.

Day 3: Cairo - Amman

This morning we venture to the Egyptian Museum, home to the most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities in the world. Arguably the most famous exhibit is the stunning solid gold funerary mask of the boy-King Tutankhamen. An entire gallery is devoted to the treasures unearthed by Howard Carter at Tutankhamen’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings in 1922. Around midday we head to the airport for your flight to Amman. Arriving here, meet with our Jordanian Team who will take you to your hotel. Time permitting with guide, explore the Amman citadel and amphitheatre.

Day 4: Amman - Petra

This morning we drive to Petra. Get ready to be amazed! All but lost to the modern world until 1812, Petra is a real archaeological gem, full of ancient tombs and ruins ripe for the modern-day discoverer. We access Petra on horseback, through the mysterious mile-long Siq which leads to the spectacular façade of the Treasury (of Indiana Jones fame). This is just the beginning of a day filled with true adventure, where we’ll explore amazing sights such as the Street of Facades, the Theatre, Colonnaded Street and Qasr al Bint if feeling energetic we will also include walking up to Ad Deir.
