Today you will be collected form your Cairo hotel you have booked yourself and your On the Go arrangements will begin. We will transfer you to the base of Mt Sinai, which is about 8/9 hours away. Tonight you will begin your trek up Mt Sinai about 10/11pm and wait for sunrise.
This morning you trek down. St Katherine's monastery is closed Fridays and Sundays, so if you wish to visit St Katherine's you will need to leave Cairo a day before or spend an extra night in Dahab before going on to Jordan. After your climb down you will be transferred to your hotel in Dahab for a rest this afternoon, or a spot of snorkelling.
Today you will be transferred to the ferry port for your one way ferry to Jordan. We use the Nuweiba - Aqaba ferry port that allows one way journeys. Upon arrival you will be met on the Jordanian side and transferred to your hotel for the evening.
Bid farewell to the crystal blue waters of the Red sea after a free morning. We drive to Wadi Rum so we can get up close and personal to it's surrounding scenery on 4x4's. Wadi Rum is A vast, silent landscape of ancient riverbeds, pastel coloured stretches of sandy desert and amazing rock formations known as jebels that rise from the desert floor, the desertscape of Wadi Rum represents some of the most stunning countryside on the planet.
After breakfast at your campsite you will be transferred to Petra. Welcome to the Rose City! Access to the city on our guided exploration is through the famous narrow, deep siq. The rocks then give way to the most amazing site – that of the fantastically impressive Treasury. Walking down the gravel tracks, we’ll explore the ancient Nabatean tombs and the Roman rock-carved streets lined with temples, royal tombs, staircases, arched gates, and public buildings.
Today you will return to Petra. You will enter by al Madras, with visits to the High Place of Sacrifice, Wadi Farasa, Great Temple and the Royal Tombs. The more intrepid can ascend to Ad Deir better known as the monastery. Petra is endless and based on your preference and fitness your guide will show you many amazing highlights within the city.
Today we make our way to the Dead Sea where you will have free time. You can test the buoyancy of the salt rich waters.
Today we depart and visit Madaba which is renown for its mosaics including the stunning 6th century Byzantine mosaic map depicting Jerusalem and other holy sites, located at the Greek Orthodox Church of St George. Then driving north we visit the Roman ruins of Jerash. Recognised as one of the best-preserved member cities of the Decapolis, Jerash is deservedly one of Jordan’s major attractions. We return to Amman.
