Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Egypt and the start of your holiday. We will be there to meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Cairo

Today we will take you on a full day discovery tour to visit the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel and Khan el Khalili bazaar - to have tea at Fishaway coffee shop.

Day 3: Cairo - Siwa Oasis

We head to El Alamein city; we tour the city and visit the WWII memorial, and museum, we head to SIWA! Home of the famous oracle visited by Alexander the Great, and a people long isolated by its desert environment, and we’ll see it all. Bring your flashlights and cameras too: we’re seeking mummies at Gebel El Mawta, the Mountain of the Dead tour the city by night.

Day 4: Siwa Oasis

After breakfast, we visit the temple of Alexander the great, The temple of Um Ubayda and Cleopatra’s bath. Using the local mode of Transport (donkey drawn carriages), we tour the palm groves. In the Evening we tour the ancient village and fortress of Shali.

Day 5: Siwa Oasis - Bahariyya Oasis

Leaving Siwa Oasis, early in the morning, we head on the old camel caravan route connecting Siwa to Bahariyya oasis, we pass by remote oases (Bahrein, Nawamisa and Sitra oases) Finally Bahariyya, home of the Valley of the Golden Mummies.

Day 6: Bahariyya Oasis - White Desert

In Bahariyya oasis, we visit the Museum of the golden mummies, the tombs of the Nobles, the temples of Alexander the great and Ain El Maftela. In the afternoon We’ll plunge deep into the desert again! The Black Desert and its volcanic remains; the White Desert and its unusual limestone formations; Crystal Mountain.

Day 7: White Desert - Cairo

Leaving the white desert, we head to Bahariyya, have lunch and head back to Cairo.

Day 8: Cairo - Nile Cruising

This morning we transfer you to the cruise ship for embarkation. This afternoon we set sail up the Nile to Beni Suef, a city south of Cairo famous for its cotton spinning and carpet weaving. This is our first full day aboard the ship so why not explore everything the ship has to offer. Head up to the large sundeck and relax whilst taking in glorious Nile views.

Day 9: Nile Cruising

Today with Beni Suef as your base you visit the Fayoum Oasis sites including Hawara Pyramids & Maydom. Enjoy the meals and services on board your cruise ship.

Day 10: Nile Cruising

Today enjoy the full day sailing to Minya taking in the spectacular scenery all the while enjoying the services on board your cruise.

Day 11: Nile Cruising

This morning we visit the tombs of Beni Hassan. There are 39 tombs in total at Beni Hassan but only 4 are accessible to the public, one of these tombs (Tomb 15) contains very ornate drawings of wrestling from ancient times. After lunch on board, we enjoy our further touring to the sites of Tuna el Gebel and Ashmunein. Returning in time for a lovely dinner.

Day 12: Nile Cruising

Morning the ship sails from Minya to Tel el Amarna. After lunch we visit the remains of the once capital city of El Amarna. Here lies an extensive Egyptian archaeological site dating back to 1353BC. The city was abandoned not long after it was built and was later on was occupied by both the Romans as well as the Christians. Structures from all three periods have been excavated. The cruise sails to Asyut in the evening.

Day 13: Nile Cruising

A full day sailing today so continue to enjoy the great facilities on board. Have a splash in the swimming pool, a great way to cool off from the hot Egyptian sun. Massages are also available up here so you really can unwind whilst enjoying more spectacular views of the world’s longest river.

Day 14: Nile Cruising

Today we get back onto dry land and visit the temples of Abydos. We then meetthe cruise at Naga Hammadi . Enjoy lunch on board while the cruise sails through two locks pass and the railway bridge pass. The boat then docks in Qena for the night.

Day 15: Nile Cruising

Morning enjoy your visit to Dendera. The temple of Dendera is dedicated to Hathor, the God of joy, dance and love. Hathor was famous for having amazing healing powers and it was not uncommon for the sick to journey here in order to be cured. Abydos is a burial place where some of the first kings of Egypt were buried, however remains from the earlier Predynastic period have also been found.Today we visit Luxor Museum, to see the exhibits on show. Return to the boat for lunch and a relaxed afternoon while sailing to Luxor.

Day 16: Nile Cruising - Cairo

Sadly you leave the cruise today. Enjoy sightseeing to the Colossi of Memnon which are the first monuments we will see as we arrive on the West Bank for our exploration. We then proceed to visit the Valleys of the Kings and Queens and the imposing colonnaded temple of Queen Hatshepsut. After, we will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Cairo. On arrival we will transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day is free.

Day 17: Cairo

We will transfer you to the airport in time for your departure flight.
