Departing Cairo this morning we drive to Alexandria. Arriving there we will assist with your check in. Remainder of the day at your leisure.
Enjoy a full day private tour of this amazing city highlights include the Catacombs at Kom El Shoukafa and nearby Roman Ruins, Pompey's Pillar, Fort Qaitbay, Alexandria National Library and Montazah Palace Gardens.... the list goes on!
Starting early (7am) we drive North-west toward the Mediterranean coastline, to the World War II cemeteries of El Alamein. In 1942 the Allies under Britain’s field Marshal Montgomery halted the German- Italian advance towards the River Nile. Stopping for a light lunch in Marsa Matrouh we continue onward to Siwa.
Today enjoy visits to explore the area of Old Shali and Hill of the Dead. Later the Temple of the Oracle, dating back to near 570BC. Later off to Cleopatra Spring for a dip in the pool as the spring fed warm water bubbles to the surface. Later enjoy a sunset dinner, swim and campfire at the ‘Great Saltwater Lake’.
A long journey today setting off after breakfast we drive to Bahariyya a 450-km journey that passes through magnificent sand dunes of the Great Sand Sea and the dramatic landscape of Areg Oasis. Arrive Bahariyya I am sure you will just want to relax.
We explore Bahariyya - an ancient oasis dating back to the Middle Kingdom. Continuing by 4x4, we visit some temples, tombs and the Black Desert - a region full of black volcanoshaped mountains. Our desert camp tonight is in the White Desert. The striking desert is full of unusual wind-eroded limestone formations and our remote overnight base.
Morning witness the sunrise over the White Desert. After breakfast we drive back to Cairo (750KM) Arrive there evening at leisure.
