Lake of Stars - Malawi

Set on the banks of Lake Malawi, the third largest lake in Africa, Lake of Stars is quickly becoming one of the world's 'must-visit' music festivals. Attracting approximately 100 artists from all over Africa and Europe, thousands of festival-goers each year are quickly spreading the word about this unique cultural adventure. Please note that Lake of Stars will return in 2013 after a year off in 2012. Exact dates TBC.

The idea was to develop a festival that supported the local economy and attracted tourists. Now in its eighth year, this three-day festival has become one of Malawi's main tourist events, uniting diverse cultures and musical artists from around the globe. This is not just a traditional music festival though, as all who visit return rejuvenated having experienced a rare mix of adventure, music and ethical travel.
