Lusheng Festival - Kaili, Guizhou

Lusheng Festival is the general name given to the annual courtship rituals that take place between young villagers in Kaili.

A wide range of courtship rituals are performed at Lusheng. Typically, young men and women dress in their finest traditional costume, the men playing long traditional pipes while the women dance to show off their costumes. The exact location of the festival is only decided a few days before the event takes place, but this is a unique opportunity to experience truly authentic Chinese cultural rituals. Dates for 2012 TBC.
