The Pharaonic Wedding Festival - Karnak

Watch 40 couples get married in ancient Egyptian style at a twice yearly festival held at Karnak Temple. The wedding ceremony is 5,000 years old and gives couple the opportunity to marry in regal ancient Egyptian style.

Ancient Kings and Queens of Egypt put on hugely extravagant weddings and this ancient ceremony is now re-enacted twice a year at Karnak Temple. Huge wedding dresses, lots of make -up, traditional rituals and Egyptian folk dances that provide blessings from the gods remind current day Egyptians of their ancient roots.
