Busan kite festival in Korea is held every year on Dadaepo Beach, when over 2,000 people from all over the world fly kites as part of the annual kite flying competition.
The festival is held to preserve traditional Korean heritage and is more than just a kite flying bonanza. For the kite flying aficionado the festival includes contests for creative and high altitude flying as well as kite fighting. While the sky is awash with kites of all shapes and sizes from across the globe traditional Korean folk performances, kite exhibitions and kite making workshops are preserving and promoting ancient Korean traditions.
